_alfisti_
Something different for inbetween... ...as a test for the modifications which the kit parts need to come closer to an AGM-129, I built one of the six in the B-52 kit included missiles as inflight modell. The AGM-129 was a strategic long-range cruise missile, successor to the AGM-86 and the first cruise missile with stealth technology. According to the START-II agreement, stealth missiles were not allowed to be carried by stealth bombers, so the weapon was only used on the B-52H. The missiles were equipped with nuclear warheads between 5 and 150 kt. The originally planned deployment time until 2030 ended in 2012 as a result of disarmament treaties. The parts from Modelcollect match the shape of the AGM-129 very well, unfortunately, as with the B-52H, some details are missing. In this case, these are the air inlet on the belly, which supplies the jet engine, and the large flap on the back, which hides the two folding wings. The base shows White Sands Missile Range, don´t know if any AGM-129 was ever fired there.🤷♂️ Daniel Edited January 12, 2022 by _alfisti_
Sky Keg
It looks good with the desert base. Unique and nicely done. Mike

dnl42
Very nicely done! I particularly like the base with acrylic bar support--very striking.

Rob de Bie
Daniel, very nice work on both the 'in flight' AGM-129 and the B-52H! Just last week I started looking at that very same Modelcollect AGM-129 too. The missing inlet was a painful design mistake, but otherwise the little model doesn't look bad at all. You surely made a nice NACA inlet with your plotter-cutter. The stand is great too, so many times it looks like an ugly pole under the model, but yours looks very natural. _alfisti_
Thanks guys. @Rob de Bie so the extra kit of the AGM-129 contains the same poorly detailed sprues than the B-52 kit?🙈

The AGM-129 has no panel line detail, just like you describe, Actually that's not too bad of a thing, since the panel lines on the AGM-86 are rather deep and wide for such a tiny model. I would prefer to do it myself and more subtle 🙂 I'm slooowly building a set of cruise missiles. First one from the production line is this RAF Storm Shadow. Nearly done is a Russian Kh-55M, and then the AGM-129 is planned. Rob
