Desk Flyer Posted January 9, 2022 Posted January 9, 2022 This is probably a very good opportunity to be motivated enough to attempt this. More on this (with pictures) later. 😉 2
Rabbit Leader Posted January 11, 2022 Posted January 11, 2022 Thanks for the GB entry Desk Flyer. Now although Pat and I happily encourage improvements to the basic kit, we might need to see a bit more on what you actually have planned with this conversion before you proceed too much further. We have already suggested to other members that some conversions do not include enough 'Matchbox' parts to be included here, so kindly ask you to drop @JOCKNEY and I a quick PM so that we can assess this particular build. Thanks for your understanding. Cheers and kindest regards.. Dave 2

JOCKNEY Posted January 22, 2022 Posted January 22, 2022 Hi DF All good mate, 👍 We are just trying to make sure any builds retain their Matchboxness. As Dave has said, you are very welcome to PM Dave and I some pictures of what you're proposing. Kind regards Pat 1 1
Colin @ Freightdog Models Posted January 22, 2022 Posted January 22, 2022 It would be a shame not to include it. The Esoteric set consists of a one piece solid resin fuselage (definitely modified Matchbox parts retaining trench panel lines) and a pair of metal seats. Everything else (wings, u/c, tail planes and Canopy) is Matchbox. Matchbox kits were quite often the basis of conversions (M&E Spitfire T.9, Maintrack Siskins, Aeroclub Meteors etc). I'm really like to see it make the group built. Thanks, Colin (slightly biased manufacturer of conversions!) 1

Hi @Colin @ Freightdog Models never expected someone would actually know this conversion 😄 I'll build this but move the posts over to the regular aircraft building section of the forum 😉

I had a few of the other Esoteric resin conversion sets when they came out, by today's standards they are pretty pants but fun all the same! I look forward to your build in regular section hopefully starting soon. Colin 1
