Only just studied this post. What a brilliantly executed diorama, so realistic and so much going on in the scene.  Thanks for the tutorial on how you did the canon and bullet damage- a masterclass.🙂

Nice work.  An RAF Ridgewell B17 or circle L isn’t it? 381st Bombardment Group.  I think the general divert field for damaged aircraft coming back was Honnington, or Woodbridge if they could only make it across the coast.  So I imagine your scene would be at one of those two

bar side-You are correct.  Although the individual serial number on the plane is made up, the paint scheme and letter markings are from the 381st Bombardment Group.
