ICEX! Submarine surfaced in Arctic ice

That's a really nice job you've done with the with the ice. Never really been interested in submarine models but you've got thinking about a few new projects potentially.

Just for fun, I brought my ICEX sub to yesterday's IPMS-USA Region 5 Convention, hosted by Mad City Modelers here in Madison, Wisconsin. I thought it would be unusual and interesting for the attendees to see  -- I certainly wasn't expecting it to win any awards. 

 

But, to my surprise, it earned a Silver in the Submarines category!

 

 

 

 

One final comment -- May God protect the good folks at MikroMir, their families, and the citizens of Ukraine.

I always thought that submariners were a bit mad to do this but you have captured the feel of it very well.  I especially like the way that you can see the silhouette of the hull through the ice which is very realistic.

What a good idea, well executed and deserving of that silver. Like @One 48 I was looking for Rock Hudson, Patrick McGoohan and Ernest Borgnine to appear in miniature
