Pardon if this is a repeat, but if I can believe this listing at Scalemates, the 1:72 ESCI F/RF-5A was re-boxed by Hobbytime Model Kits (who I've never heard of) in 2020. Maybe it might be available somewhere?

Good afternoon Bill

I think that you can order this kit directly from Hobbytime

Best Regards

Unfortunately, the 1/32 NATO Pilots & Ground Crew set has been a "Coming Soon" attraction for something like 4 years now. I think the chances of Italeri actually bringing it out are pretty darned remote. It's a shame - if the price proved to be reasonable, I would have scooped up 3 or 4 sets.

Cheers.

Long awaited re-issue of ESCI F-5A is slated for May.

Great news, even if it is not happening on May is good to see they will release it.  I can wait, I have 400 unbuilt kits already 😆

Cuban scheme looks nice,  but reading up on it, Cuba only have the MiG-23 and not the 27?

(Understand this is the Ex-Esci kit, which I recall hearing was a bit ropey?)

the box art? actually shows a MiG-23BN.. which Cuba operated, (the intake splitter plate is the giveaway)

it is called Mig-23BN / Mig 27D Flogger here:

https://www.jadlamracingmodels.com/italeri-2817-mig-23bn-mig-27d-flogger-1-48-plastic-plane-model-kit/

more nice schemes:

ita-2817st_3a__87009.1646854786.1280.128

ita-2817st_4a__62043.1646854786.1280.128

the ESCI/ Italeri kit usually has the required parts in the box,  it will never look like a great MiG-23/27 (which version ever you wanna build!) anyways....

go for the much much better Trumpeter Flogger series.... (which also has serious issues...., that can be corrected with a CWS resin nose.... )

Those RNethAF NF-5A/B in "F-16" camouflage were quite something

Yes, they almost looked like real fighter jets!  ;)

Just kidding, I have a soft spot for them. We even fitted a few with AIM-9 Juliets for TDY when the Leeuwarden units transitioned from the F-104 to the F-16.
