The Rafale has caught by attention.... I don't believe Academy had kitted this before, so are we looking at a new tool or Italeri/Hobby Boss rebox?

Q to  the rumormonger:

Can it be that the announced Zeke and Wildcat are indeed new toolings, but that these tools are not of South Korean but of Czech Republic origin ? The only true Academy tooling might be the A-10 which will consequently be repacked and upgraded in a Czech boxing?   -   Three completely new designs within one year by Academy sounds a bit steep.

I think it is based on the catalogue images, which say "New Tooling" in the corner!

That caught my eye too @Seamus!  As it doesn't seem to be listed as a new tool, I am guessing a rebox ... but I wonder from which manufacturer.  I'd be delighted to be wrong however.

See herebelow the words, on January 6th, 2022,  from Gustav Jung aka "M. Wolfpack Design" who's in direct contact and has close ties with Academy Hobby Model Kits.

And on January 9th, 2022, the boss from Eduard – Model Accesorries ltd., M. Vladimir Šulc himself, answering a post in Modelforum.cz has clearly stated that his company has nothing to do with the Academy current Zero and Wildcat kits projects !

No way either the Zero or Wildcat will be half the price of the Eduard Weekend Edition kits, except maybe in a couple Asian markets where Eduard pricing gets inflated.

Maybe half the price of the Profi-Pack, but they won't be Profi-Pack equivalents (I'd bet on no PE and a decal sheet covering 2-3 aircraft, vs 1-2 for a Weekend kit).

Intrigued by the provenance of the CH-53D. Plenty of Gs about, but not much in the way of a D (Fujimi, Bilek, Airfix according to Scalemates).

Unless its based on the Revell G version?

That caught my eye too!

Very intrigued of NZ

Italeri ( Rafale+53) and Eduard( Zero, Wildcat) re-boxings + A-10 as totally new tooled-great news due to fair pricing policies Academy sticks to, unlike Tamiya and GWH.

It was just told, that those are not Eduard kits.

Regarding Zero and Wildcat retail list for 2022 " new tooled-cooperation", cooperation with whom aside from Eduard?..., if that is not the case than what are the odds of two mainsteam companies releasing the same two subjects in the same year?...Academy sends before Nürnberg detailed info on quaterly releases-we'll know for sure in 2 weeks time.

Has anybody any thoughts on this release? Presumably the Accurate Miniature kit and originally announced for 2020. Just a shame the the S.Signal canopies aren't around anymore.

Where are you getting 'cooperation' from.

The catalog image posted above says 'new tool' only.

And the odds are pretty good that two companies lacking the primary fighters at Midway in their catalog would release new tools for a major Midway anniversary (this year is the 80th anniversary of that battle)

Dixit Gustav Jung (from Wolfpack Design) 1/72nd scale is a typo, It'll be a rebox from the well known Revell 1/48th Dassault Rafale C kit.

Sound logical regarding the product reference number and the kit announced price.

My sincerest apologies, did ask and now received the  following, both toolings-Zero and Wildcat totally new toolings, unrelated to any other manufacturer, first new Academy 1/48 toolings in a while.

CH-53 not Italeri but Fujimi.
