Harlequin
Hi folks, Well after the great response to my last post I thought I'd ask my next daft question. After attaching the wings to the fuselage should there still be a recess on the join or should this be filled in and smooth. I've nosed around on various photos but haven't decided on a definitive so thought I'd page the oracles. Cheers, Steve
Romeo Alpha Yankee
I would not call it a recess, in most cases there will be a panel line at the root where two dissimilar shaped surfaces meet (for example a low winged fighter like a Spitfire). I always fill my wing to fuselage joins. On high winged aircraft like a C-130 the surface is flat and while there may be panel joints they would not be recessed. Best try and find a few pictures of the real thing and go from there.
