Rabbit Leader
I have to say @Julien and @Orso, the ‘Rusky’ Sabre and upperwingless Swordfish really caught my eye - are there back stories to these models? I take it the Sabre possibly played the part of a MiG-15 in the movie ‘Sabrejet’, am I on the right path? As for the Biggles Swordfish, that looks really cool and very interesting, is there more to this one? Cheers.. Dave
Julien
Yes Dave, as there was a slight lack of MiG-15s when they filmed Sabre Jet they dressed up some A model sabres from Nellis to play the MiGs.

rob Lyttle
Some serious Matchbox collections on display here.... 😍! I've got a couple to paste on, one very recent from the High Wing group build, and one from last year's Gulf War GB. The "Revell"Buccaneer was of course the Matchbox kit, which required some considerable scratch additions, cockpit, pylons, loadout and a ladder thrown in for good measure. And recently the DHC-6 Twin Otter Scillies Skybus decorated with the 26decals sheet.... Now I'm searching the boxes to see what else I can find for a build here 👍
Army_Air_Force
Two from me - Ancient and Modern. Boeing P-12E from my childhood, probably late 70s or early 80s. The box contains an unbuilt kit which I plan to do one day when I find time from my other hobbies. From 2018, the UC-64, made during a previous Matchbox Group build.

Please report back once you find something that takes your fancy and possibly use the Build List to tick off another subject that hasn’t already been chosen . Cheers.. Orso
I forgot my SAS Jeep from the LRDG set. The Airfix Airfield SIG shared tables with the Matchbox SIG one year so I decided to enter models in both. 9
rob Lyttle
I just brushed off my F101 Voodoo for a quick photo..... I see the front probe has taken a knock, but other than that she's survived well perched on the stand. I went for the Canadian option over Ali foil nmf.... Always liked the Voodoo, and then I discovered that the pilot who took the first one straight through the sound barrier was none other than Rob C Little, who went on to have a stellar career right to the top of McDonnell. 😎 I've got a Frog RF-101C awaiting my attention- I'm in no rush to tackle this! - but alas no more Matchbox versions. Looking like there's No takers yet for PK411...... I suppose they are getting harder to find
davecov
I made a couple of dozen Matchbox kits during my teens but then stopped modelling. Since returning to modelling in 2005 I have only made 7 Matchbox kits and they have all been made during the past seven years which averages one a year. I will be starting my 8th next week.... Matchbox 1/72 Dornier Do28 Skyservant (PK-107) Matchbox 1/72 T-2C/E Buckeye (PK-42) Matchbox 1/76 Montys Caravan (PK-175) Matchbox 1/72 McDonnell F-101F Voodoo (PK-411) Matchbox 1/72 de Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter (PK-127) Matchbox 1/72 Sd-Kfz124 Wespe (PK-77) Matchbox 1/72 Hawker Siddeley Hawk (PK-027) Dave

Marklo
TA154 Didn’t realise this was Matchbox, built in 2020 not a great kit, very crude detail and an inverterate tail sitter, but shaped up ok at the end of the day. Marklo
That makes perfect sense. I’m so used to matchbox kits being revised that i didn’t expect a Matchbox boxing of a ( not very good)Revell kit. My bad. Still but for a cardboard box… You probably should use your new superpowers to delete the post. Edited January 6, 2022 by Marklo

It later appeared in a Matchbox box

Rabbit Leader
29 minutes ago, Ratch said: I have it in the Pioneer box, is that allowed in this GB? @Ratch, As you have probably noticed we already have one of these 'Pioneer' kits within this GB, however let's just say this slipped through in-between the cracks! Pat and I were pretty late getting the official GB Rules page up and running, however I'll quote this line which hopefully should be clear and concise . "So Matchbox designed kits in other boxes are acceptable, however other manufacturers designed kits ‘must’ be in Matchbox boxes" As we are celebrating the anniversary of "Matchbox" we would rather not open this up to every possible combination of box tops and manufacturers, however to keep the peace for this one kit subject only, I think we may need to allow this should you be keen to enter one. Personally, I am hoping that your stash is large enough to find another suitable subject, designed by Matchbox that may not be already listed here so far. Cheers and kind regards,
