Ultrasonic Cleaner

Santa kindly left me a £60 Amazon voucher when he visited my house a Xmas.

I have been pondering on what to spend it on. 🤔

I was thinking of using some or all of the voucher on a Ultrasonic cleaner/bath for my AB & parts (H&s infinity cr+) & other non modelling parts ie; wife's jewellery. Any recommendations?

Do you just use plain water in the cleaner or a particular type of fluid.

I think mine was a generic Chinese thing.

I use just a mild detergent for general stuff, and some of the Medea Airbrush Cleaner when I deep cleaned the Iwata CR.

I find it's quite good for rejuvenating old tins of enamel paint as well.

HTH,

Rick.

Don't use anything with ammonia in it, as it'll remove your chrome eventually.  I use IPA mixed with water in mine, or if it needs a damn good clean, put a small jar in the water/IPA in the tank and put your harsher chemicals in there with the parts.  The ultrasonic waves will pass through the glass and agitate the liquid, just as long as the levels are similar and please don't allow it to get too hot for obvious reasons. :jump_fire: Mine's got a temperature setting as well as a power button, so keep the temps reasonable if you have the option :)

I find using warm water works well with a little bit of washing up liquid.

For really stubborn stuck on stuff I use Astonish Cup Cleaner.

A teaspoons worth is fine mixed in the warm water.

Doesn't harm O rings or the chrome coating, useful for other cleaning too
