Lemur throws hat into ring

I didn't think that I would be able to do this group build as we were away for Christmas. However, plans changed and we got back last night. This gives me the next Superhero option to go. Unfortunately, I did not get all the right paints to do what I wanted so scrabbled through the stash to pull out an Airfix Tomahawk IIb in desert colours. Might not be as challenging as some previous builds but let's go.

 

 

No idea where the box went, but the bag is sealed.

Music is Thomas Bergerson's Humanity Chapter 1, to be followed by 2,3 and 4. Should keep me going.

We are about an hour in

Not much progress, but interior is painted ip. Needs some straps and scuffing up, but if grime and then we can start inhaling glue fumes.

 

Onwards.

Interesting build this, with the starting point being putting the fuselage together first before adding the cockpit to the upper wing

Enough in there to look busy.

 

Very quickly you get to add the wings and it looks like this.

However, there is a canyon sized gap at the wing roots which needs a bit of filler. I will have to take a break while it dries, which will give me time to make tonight's tea which will be Chipotle chilli pork burgers. 

Does this count as a multiple build?

A slight diversion has been made to prepare tea.

 

Not many parts as you can see. 1 teaspoon of each, a bit of salt and pepper and mix together. Add to pork mince, divide mixture and make burgers. 

 

These are now in the fridge from whence SWIMBO will retrieve them at an appropriate cooking juncture. 

 

On with the plastic build

As time moves ever onwards we have to run to keep up.

The underside is now a fetching shade of blue with subtle pre-shades of black.

We now need decals.  I will be doing this in the a.m.

 

In the photo the quarter light window, port side is missing.  I dropped it.

Fortunately it has been located and will be added.

That kit is shouting decal me, go on decal me! looking very good.

Start of day 2 and on to decalling. This is the part I really loathe, but, given that this is a starter kit  there are only a dozen or so which I am sure I will be able to do.

Decals have been applied followed by copious amounts of Micro Sol to bed them down.

A little light scuffing was also applied in a first for me as I normally paint factory fresh only. Final touch up on damaged paint has also been taken care of so just waiting for a matt coat to seal it all in and we will be finished.

A nice little build, not too difficult and pleasing to look at.
