Kallisti
Just goes to show how weak my modelling mojo has been recently that I completely forgot about this annual ritual until just now! So lets wind the click back a year and see whet went on: First off was a kit I started just after Christmas, the Toyota Forklift Truck in 1:32 scale from Aoshima. Continuing one of my themes from 2020 was building the construction machines from Hasegawa and this fitted into the theme. It was a fun little kit Build here: Next up in March I continued with another ongoing theme of late which is Angel Interceptors from Captain Scarlet. This was was the pretty basic Imai kit from many many years ago. Like all the other Imai kits there were designed as toys you could build, so I didn't expect much and thats exactly what I got Very basic kit, not a great fit, but with a bit of effort it turned out okay. and here it is middle right with all the other Angel Interceptors RFI here: In March I started my most ambitious build of the year, a 3D printed 1:48 scale Starfury from Babylon 5 as part of the 'Anything but Injection' GB. It was a beautiful kit printed by Alain Riveard in Canada and I decided I'd build it in its launch gantry. The parts: After multiple trial and errors while scratch building the base and adding lighting, I finally finished it in June. Sadly the lighting doesn't work very well at all and I've given up even connecting it up nowadays. Its been to a few shows including Telford. here is it complete Build here: For my 60th birthday in February, my work colleagues had a whip round and bouth me two kits, one of which was this Land Rover Fire truck from Italeri which I decided to build back in July. Sadly its not a very good kits - its actually a rebox of an old Esci kit with the firefighting gear from another kit thrown in the box I can't say I did a great job on it and this won't be appearing on any show tables! RFI here: Then finally this year (yes you read that correctly!) I moved onto the new Revell Jaguar E-Type Roadster kit, the one with the very surreal box art featuring Sean bean, Diana Rigg and Lassie On the suggestion of Harriet and Allan, I decided to do a primrose Yellow version to avoid falling into the cliche of red or British Racing Green and boy was a I pleased I did! It was completed in August. Build here: RFI Here: I think it is fair to say that this is my most satisfying completed build of the year. it was also the last! Since then I've started numerous kits, Eduard Tempest II, another 22" Eagle, another Haswgawa construction machine and others, but my modelling mojo has collapsed and I can't find the 'oomph' to stick at anything these last few months. I guess it happens, we are in unprecedented times and I'm sure that has had a lot to do with it. Here's looking forward to 2022 and a rediscovered mojo! mick b
Not pathetic output in the slightest! Excellent results, especially the E Type! Mike 1
MRMRL
I'd say that's a pretty good output for a list mojo. The Jag and the forklift appeal to me in particular, they are excellent.
Whofan
I liked your models - even the ones you don't ! I confess that I suspect you are the chap I spoke to at Telford about your Primrose yellow E type, telling you I was taken to my wedding by my best man in his primrose yellow hard top E type. Am I right? This is yours, I think? There can't be two primrose yellow E type modellers around! Edited December 28, 2021 by Whofan 3

I always look forward to your builds. The ones above are more impressive than you make out, you know. You've certainly built more than I did!
cmatthewbacon
That's a lovely selection -- nothing to be ashamed of (says he with 2 builds in 2021 to his name.... ;-P). The E-Type and Star Fury are my faves, but I'd be proud to have any of them on my shelf. It's interesting that Primrose Yellow is one of the longest lasting E-Type colours, but you rarely see them modelled even though there are quite a few real cars around... (now the Revell kit is with us and easily available, it would be cool to see if between us we could muster a display that showcases the whole range of original colours...) best, M. 1

That is a brilliant idea! I think the problem with Primrose yellow is there isn't a standard 'off the shelf' modelling paint that will match. I bought a small bottle of touch up paint from a specialist, but as soon as I opened the bottle and smelled the Xylene I knew I didn't want to use it on the model. Instead I paint it onto some scrap plastic and colour matched a custom mix of Tamiya paints to it and used that instead.

Lightningboy2000
Can't see anything pathetic about those! All superb quality if you ask me. My favourite is the Starfury, looks fantastic on that gantry. Remember buying the Revell kit when it came out but sold it part finished when I moved house. Looking at prices of them now, I wish I hadn't! Martin
Quiet Mike
From someone who has had two models on the bench in '21, and finished neither of them, you have amassed a healthy collection of builds! Good work 👏

Kallisti
Thanks for the comments everyone, I should clarify in that the 'pathetic' refers to the number completed compared to the number started
