TimJ
Build number two is the Revell repop of the M16 halftrack, one of those Matchbox kits that I didn't build back in the day, although my brother did. Painting the section of railway line swill probably be the most time consuming part. 🙂 DSCF2931 by timothy jones, on Flickr DSCF2932 by timothy jones, on Flickr DSCF2933 by timothy jones, on Flickr Edited April 17, 2022 by TimJ
JOCKNEY
Great stuff Tim I always forget these Revell versions have the base with them, must resist temptation to add even more kits to the stash Good luck with this one Cheers Pat
Rabbit Leader
Another excellent choice Tim and I have to say if I was getting rather excited whilst compiling the Build list, seeing these great photos and sprues again is making me want to build all these great Matchbox kits now on show. Matchbox's range of Armour kits are well worth collecting, so it's good to see Revell are doing their part by keeping these great kits in constant circulation. Cheers. welcome aboard and best of luck.. Dave
Scargsy
Nice, I have fond memories of building this as a kid and being chuffed to bits with the results.
TimJ
A week into the GB so time for an update. Work began by assembling the body, interior and chassis as three sub assemblies. DSCF2973 by timothy jones, on Flickr The base has been assembled and given a coat of paint which now looks similar to the original colours of the kit's plastic. bigbadbadge
I am looking forward to this one, great start on this. I got given one on my 5th Birthday assembled it very badly in an afternoon and so this was my first kit really, little did I know that it would be the start f a lifetime Hobby. Going through and seeing these builds has got me thinking about doing this again so ordered one which arrived yesterday, will give it a good look over tomorrow. Great work on yours Chris

TimJ
Thanks Chris. Progress has been quick today and the half track has been painted, sub assemblies stuck together and the wheels added. DSCF2989 by timothy jones, on Flickr DSCF2988 by timothy jones, on Flickr The track bed on the base has been painted a couple of shades of grey to look more like stone ballast and the slleepers have been painted dark earth, which looks a bit too light so I may go over them with a darker shade. DSCF2990 by timothy jones, on Flickr More soon. Edited January 17, 2022 by TimJ
bigbadbadge
This has progressed well Tim, the half track looks great. The base looks good too, the sleepers do look quite light. Humbrol 173 or 98 are good for sleepers and rail sides I use them on my layouts. Chris
TimJ
Thanks for the paint info Chris. 👍 I've bought a tin of 173 and it looks a lot better than the dark earth. DSCF2992 by timothy jones, on Flickr I 've also made a start on the turret although I think I should have sanded down the seams before adding the guns. bigbadbadge
Hi Tim That tack does look good, as does the turret. Great work, mine can come out out quarantine today so will check it over later when I get the chance. Chris
TimJ
I removed the guns from the turret to apply a bit of filler and sand down the seams. With that done it the guns were reattached, painting completed and it was fitted into the half track. DSCF2996 by timothy jones, on Flickr Meanwhile the base had some paint touch ups around the sleepers and the top of the rails got a coat of Revell Steel. TimJ
After giving the body a couple of clear coats I've got the decals on. DSCF3011 by timothy jones, on Flickr
IanC
Looks good Tim. Wish I could find one of these for a reasonable price!

TimJ
After giving the banks at the side of the tracks a coat of diluted PVA I sprinkled some 'grass' onto the base to finish it off. DSCF3024 by timothy jones, on Flickr DSCF3027 by timothy jones, on Flickr A nice little kit and not one that I've built before. More pics in the Gallery. On to the next. 🙂 Edited January 24, 2022 by TimJ
