Rabbit Leader
These dual armour boxings were a revelation in their day and its' so good to see Revell re-releasing them at regular intervals. Being quite fond of thee weird looking French tanks, I'll be watching closely to see what's inside and how you go Marklo. Cheers, welcome aboard and best of luck.. Marklo
My WWI tank collection, the Schneider being my last foray into early French tanks. One future project will be to replicate these builds in 1/35. Edited December 28, 2021 by Marklo
Marklo
Sprue shots. It’s actually disappointing to have them molded in a single colour On small scale AFVs I tend to sssemble then paint. Still need to decide on which scale. I already have a 1/72 FT in my collection so I’ll aim for something a bit different.
Marklo
Cracking away on all three components. The FT is almost ready for paint, I’ve decided on a captured panzer grey scheme mostly because it’s the Hotchiss armed version. The Char will be finished soon and the base is ready for paint.
Marklo
Assembly almost completed. In the Char the tracks were not molded properly so I’ve had to cut a section out where the track guards cover the track and splice it into the missing area thankfully it worked out ok. I’ll probably paint the tracks in metallic grey once the camo is on.
Marklo
Grey on the FT the grey is fairly light but weathering will darken it quite a bit and I’m conscious that the small needs a lighter grey.
TimJ
They've come together quickly. Looking good.
Marklo
first colour on the Char. I’m going to do this in the kit captured sand and geeen scheme. As you can see I’ve painted the tracks. Once I’ve finished the camo I’ll paint these in metallic grey.
bigbadbadge
Nice work Mark, was looking at these on Ebay a short while ago and almost pressed the buy button but decided to go for a nostalgia build instead. Good to see these going together, quite fancy getting hold of the FT one one day. Chris 1
Marklo
First to fight do the FT on its own and indeed was the first Ft I built.
Rob S
Nice work. I must admit when this first came out (and I did build them in no time flat) I was a bit disappointed that they paired the Char B1 bis with the FT17 when I was hoping they would have paired the B1 with a R35 or H39. Lived in hope though that Matchbox would do other French Tanks like the Renault and Hotchkiss and even the Char D2 but alas it was not to be!

Marklo
Tracks given a coat of metallic grey followed by dark iron. Decals next then it’s time to weather it a bit.
Marklo
Factory finish, just a few bits to add. Then some weathering… Edited February 19, 2022 by Marklo

Marklo
A bit of chipping and some rust applied. Grime and mud next. As both the French tanks would have been about twenty odd years old by this time I’m going for scruffy. Edited March 3, 2022 by Marklo
Marklo
Grime and mud duly added, if I can find the exhausts for the Char I’m all done
