I stopped trying to get a bit done every day; as I have so many things to do, my talents are needed elsewhere at times in the house or the garden, or I'm not feeling great and need to rest up; but I dont worry about how long. Long quantity of time brings high quality in the build!😉 The Sunderland is looking great, very stealthy in its black pyjamas!😀 Thanks very much, I'll just keep picking away until I get something vaguely Sunderland shaped. Tony did advise me to walk away at times at the start of this so I'll follow his sage advice. 21 hours ago, Markh-75 said: Great work! I also use cocktail sticks for wheels, or whatever I can get to fit into them, I then paint the wheel, both sides; and set the Dremel up slow and put the cocktail stick in the jaws of the Dremel and just spin them to do the tyres, always works a treat!😉 I think I'll be nicking that idea. Many Thanks. 19 hours ago, Dunny said: Looking lovely Alistair - I most definitely feel your pain with the scribing! Cheers, Roger Thanks Roger, Ach, it'll get done soon there's not much to do . AliGauld
I finally got round to doing something with the wing lights. I cut some pieces of styrene got them to fit sort of and after a bit of silver and black paint. This. Whilst doing this I noticed a seam showing between the engines hence the filler. Next, once the paint had dried some ammo Ultra Glue and the clear pieces. We'll see how that looks after the glue dried. A little warning for @Dunny the clear pieces required a little fettling to get them in. Not much a little carefully sanded off each end of the parts. You probably figured this was going to happen anyway. The Beaching Gear has been assembled and given a dirtying. There may be more later, it depends on time as I'm off to see Top Gun tonight. sandros
I am watching the build from the start, as I own the kit and is at my "immediate" plans. I was hoping the fit would be better. Regarding the clear parts VMS has a glue specifically designed for the clear parts. I think it's worth trying. Keep up the good job

Keep up the good job Thanks, Regarding the fit a lot of it may be down to poor modelling on my part but there are some issues which need to be overcome. It all comes together in the end though. If you haven't already seen it I would recommend @Dunny's Flying Porcupine build to see how it should be done. Cheers, Alistair 1

AliGauld
Finally got the scribing done. Not my best but not my worst. Out to the garage this morning for some marbling. Paints used were all Tamiya with Rapid Drying Thinner. Buff, Deck Tan, Desert Yellow. Field Blue around the join areas for light shadowing and the Dark Yellow on the hull underside. Once this is dry I'll star on the light coats of white until I get the effect I'm hoping for. Thanks for looking, Cheers, Alistair
AliGauld
Back out to the garage and some light coats of Tamiya white with some drops of Buff added later..... Excuse the pics but the flash seems to have washed everything out and caused some glare. Just wanted to get these up tonight before we head off for Bob's Burgers. Tomorrow some ESDG. AdrianMF
Looks good, and I'm sure it looks better in real life. It's tricky to show up variations on white, but with a phone shooting against a white background can cause it to stretch its contrast to show the variations (normally when I don't want to!). It's a bit of extra masking but seemed the most sensible to me. Cheers, Alistair

Is this some exotic Colourcoats hue I'm not aware of? 🙂 As expected, this is turning out superbly. Looking forward to the paint, whatever colour it turns out to be. AliGauld
I was hoping to get on with masking the uppers today but stuff and things have gotten in the way. Great work. Chris Thanks Chris, The white may not have been helped by my error with it. I just picked a Tamiya white out of the drawer and then added the Buff and sprayed. It was only after that I saw it was gloss. The rapid thinners knock the gloss back a bit but its a bit shiny. Cheers, Alistair
