Hawker P1067 Hunter prototype

Recommended Posts

A nice easy conversion from the old Airfix Hunter F6, I had to remove the wing dog-tooth, fair over where the gun pack goes and add a braking parachute fairing to the base of the fin. The rear of the canopy is a bit shorter than normal.

Finished off with home made decals.

Thanks for looking.

Really nice Hunter and she looks good in the green and big national rounders.
What did you decide to use for the colour?  I think I’ve heard there is some controversy as to the shade of green but yours looks and feels right to me.

I spent a long time looking at different shades of light green as I really didn't want to do a mix knowing I would need enough to do all the Hawker jets in the same colour. Eventually I tried Gunze H31 White Green which looked about right. Part of the problem is the real aircraft look a different shade in every photo so it's a best guess!
