BritJet
Designed to test the low speed characteristics of highly swept wings for Concorde, the HP115 was used for many years of research flying without any major changes and is now preserved at the FAA Museum Yeovilton next to the first British Concorde and the BAC221 used for high speed wing research. A very simple kit with no build issues and painted with Alclad. I added the smoke generators on the wing leading edges and printed my own decals. Thanks for looking. cngaero
That's a lovely model of a strange looking aeroplane. I've always had a soft spot for British experimental aircraft.

Head in the clouds.
Cracking build of a truly strange looking but important plane. Great work on the decals, they look sharp and crisp well designed.
BritJet
Thanks both. The kit decals were the Pressfix type that are difficult to apply properly and have a habit of cracking a while after being applied. Luckily the markings were straightforward to replicate. AMB
I am interested in building one of these. Is the Whirybirds kit the same one as Maintrack's Project-X kit? Did they buy up the moulds or is it a different kit? The only other alternative is the more expensive Anigrand resin kit of this.

Not sure Whirlybird added anything to the HP115, but there wouldn't be much to add anyway! Steve

Wasn't sure whether the expensive Anigrand resin kit was worth it, as I hate vacu-form kits!
Graham Boak
I have one of these. As vacforms go, it is very simple and easy. Arguably less so than an Anigrand resin might be?
