Is anyone able to point me in the direction for a source on what sort and size of floats and rafts were used on this vessel? It would be much appreciated.

Hi Boydie, your model is coming along great.

According to various sources, in 1942 she was carrying the following:

1 X 45’ Motor Launch

3 x 45’ Medium Picket Boat

2 x 32’ life cutter

2 x 27’ whaler

3 x 25’ fast motor boat

2 x 14’ drifter dinghy

1 x 16’ fast motor boat

1 or 2 x 10’ working dinghy

~40 x 10' x 5' Type No. 20 Carley floats

lots of Flota Nets

I am not sure how it was different at the end of the war, but pictures seem to show far fewer Carley floats attached to the superstructures, and no Flota nets, but they could have been stowed elsewhere, such as on the deck.

Cheers

Peter
