f matthews
This is my second build of four Finnish Vickers tanks and is the later version of the Vickers 6 Ton with chassis no. VAE 546 which was subsequently modified with a 45mm main gun. The Combat Armor Models 6 Tons are fantastic kits and the recent Finnish versions have fairly complete and beautifully detailed engine and fighting compartments. Fit on the lower hull is spot-on and is every bit the equal of a Tamiya-engineered kit, just with better detail. LOVE these kits! They aren’t always easy to find, but WELL worth seeking out. Foxbat
Looks great so far. I was inspired to search them out - had real trouble searching for Combat Armour Models or CAM, but found them in a few places under the parent company, Riich. f matthews
This was the first one that I finished a month or two ago-built out as vehicle number VAE 546 in its original configuration at trials in Finland in 1934. I skipped doing an interior on that one, but wanted to build it into my current project.

edjbartos
That looks very nice, the engine looks great and I also like the weathering that you have done on the inside of the tank... Ed
Milan Mynar
Excellent kit made by CAMs, your building is excellent too.
Milan Mynar
I miss the Finnish Vickers with the Bofors cannon in my collection. I believe the CAMs will eventually release it, so I won't have to sculpt it from Mirage-Hobby models. As for the Finnish Vickers and T-26 tanks, this is a really broad topic.
f matthews
A little more progress-basecoat of field grey on the lower hull.

APA
This is a cracking build. Very well done indeed. I'm still waiting for the Brit version to come out. CAMS being a subdivision of Riich it looks just as good in terms of quality and detail as the Parent ones. Andrew
diablo rsv
Lovely work! That looks like a great little kit, it's a shame that the British didn't use them, as far as I know. l wouldn't mind having a go at making one of them but I'm trying to build a collection of British used vehicles. They just released a Finnish captured/converted T-26 as well that looks very nice.
f matthews
I set this one aside a while ago after running into an issue with the rear air intake hood. Since I’m trying to make some headway on stalled projects, I finished building out the turret and made some substantial progress on the upper hull. The turret hatches on these kits are sublime. LeeM
Nice work. A pity to hide the interior. Edited December 19, 2022 by LeeM
f matthews
This one went back to the shelf while I went down a Panzer II rabbit hole for a while. Every time I go back to these kits, I am impressed and always wonder how I keep setting this one aside. I was a lot closer to completion on this than I thought I was and I figured how to make the air intake hood work out acceptably (the PE parts for those intakes are the only negative part about this kit) and I finished up everything except for tools and tracks. Sprayed a basecoat over everything with Tamiya Field Grey, which I prefer to the colour it previously sported. Looks like I’ll be putting all of my other projects on hold until I wrap this one up!

LankyPanky
Painting is second to none on these! JC
f matthews
Some detail painting knocked out (interior bits, rubber tyres, exhaust, hatch pads and driver’s scope, etc). It is nice that the hatch openings are large enough to let in light and to allow the busy interior to be fairly visible:
f matthews
Moving along with washes and oil paint filters really changes the complexion of the finish and makes it more lifelike. I do not preshade or anything like that, preferring my own methods which work for me. Edited April 19, 2023 by f matthews
APA
Excellent stuff there F I'm definitely adding this to my list 😁 Andrew
f matthews
Inching ever closer, I added markings. Not totally happy with the turret swastikas, but a little bit of touch-up should resolve them.
edjbartos
That's lovely work, the washes that you have applied have really a huge difference. It's looking fabulous, well done... Ed
f matthews
Build is finished-all parts added and preliminary weathering/mud/dirt/dust applied. Tracks are completed and base-coated in dark iron-I will install them when I start getting the display base together.
