Ratch
I fancied something simple in the run-up to Christmas and the New Year. I picked this up at SMW last month. There are only five, resin cast parts to this kit, but they are festooned with flash. Several pieces require plugs removing too. This was done with a razor saw and the flash removed with a craft knife, file and/or sandpaper. Elvira: Mistress of the Dark was a 1988 comedy-horror film starring Cassandra Peterson. I've got that tune "June is busting out all over" racing through my head. I don't do these resin things very often. I did Lily Munster back in 2013. Lily was airbrushed with Andrea flesh tones and finished with Vallejo acrylics The rug and skull were painted in oils I've not yet decided how I'll go about Elvira
ArnoldAmbrose
Gidday Ratch, I don't recall Lily Munster looking like that - not that I'm complaining, mind. 🙂 Looking forward to seeing how Elvira turns out. Regards, Jeff.
Ratch
I may have got her clothes slightly wrong

Ratch
I used 2-part epoxy to fix the parts
Ratch
This is her pose. The joint of her right arm was unsightly, so I mixed Sylmasta Modelling Putty, but in applying it, both the arm and leg separated. I re-fixed with superglue. I’m not sure whether this will be altogether successful or not. 1
Ratch
Well this is how the joint filling came out. Not perfect - it's a very tricky area to get sandpaper into effectively I have used black and white primer.
Vince1159
Hope you don't mind me posting this Ratch but she was in an episode of Nash Bridges and might help with the face (what a gal)...

Ratch
I have dry-brushed olive green on the stake. A paler skin-tone airbrushed over Elvira.

Ratch
I tried two washes to represent her stockings, the first with Games Workshop 61-75 Black Ink then Vallejo Model Color 70950 169 Black, both heavily diluted, but neither achieved the desired finish, and I moved on to her eyes, make-up and hair.
