shortCummins
Here’s my effort at building Revell’s excellent 1:48 Stearman PT-17 Kaydet. Built largely OTB with the addition of some HGW seat harness’ and Yahu IPs The HGW harness’ was by far the most difficult part of the build, I’ve used them on 1:32 builds in the past however I doubt I’ll used them for any 1:48, neither my eyes nor fingers work well enough anymore. The kit itself is a joy, my only real complaints are the yellow plastic, the colour makes it very difficult to see any defects, and the moulded seat harness. There’s a lot of detail that won’t be seen, behind the engine and the cockpit framework however complaining about too much detail would be a little churlish! I taken a fair slice of “artist licence” with the scheme, I’ve “mixed and matched” from 2 or 3 different aircraft but I liked to look of the grey fuselage and also the red and white stripes for the rudder. Here are the photos… You can see my build log here… https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235102012-148-revell-pt-17-kaydet/ until next time as always, any suggestions, criticisms or comments will be gratefully received. rgds John(shortCummins) 29

SAT69
She's a beauty and the weathering is very nicely done. I'm not usually one for weathering but I do appreciate it when it's done right.
dnl42
Very nice job on that! As for the color scheme, I first thought you had chosen the CAF Lone Star PT-17, so it definitely works!

shortCummins
much appreciated, its a really good kit, if anyone wanted to "dip their toe" into bi-plane waters they could do worse than choose this kit as a place to start rgds John(shortCummins)

Viking
Lovely build of a classic old aeroplane, with your customary flawless finish. The US Navy have always liked visiting the paint store haven't they! Cheers John
