Hi all, Just wondering if the Airfix or Trumpy kit is the best for a 2022 build?

Airfix is okay, the fit isn't that bad 🤔 but it really needs the full photoetch set and armament upgrades to look good: 

 

Trumpy's detail is sharper all round and fits together a bit better. Some PE railings and mast detail is included but you really need a bit extra to bring it up to display standard!

 

Anyway, you pays your money, etc!

Thanks Alan. I think I’ll go for the Trumpy one and use Peter Halls set.

I had the aifix kit and binned it in the end, it's awful IMHO although I do think it has the nicer lines of the two, 

 

I looked at trumpys kit, I'm not certain but I think the kit has some areas that need correction, by memory the platform just forward of the funnel is in the wrong position for example, but its all fixable, 

 

On this site towards the bottom there's a photo of the two kits side by side showing the difference in the shape of the s/structure notably just forward of the funnel,
