Corsairfoxfouruncle
Good day everyone … Here we are at the end of yet another year. Not up to my last two years standards. Mostly due to losing four months of build time this year for various reasons. But 22 builds isn't so bad is it. This is a quick list as to what they are. My apologies if this is long. Spitfire Mk.I FZ*L R.S.Tuck 1939 done Boyington F3F VMF-2 1938 - done RNZAF P-40E Pacific scheme 1943 done RAAF P-40N “Hep Cat” 1944 done RNZAF A-4K 1970’s done N.F.11 - WM373 Woomera 1964 done StuG III 185th StuG.Abt. 1943 done Martlet Mk.III 804 Sq.Egypt 1941 done F4U-1D - USN Essex April 1945 done F6F-5 - USN Essex April 1945 done Done Beaufighter X 272 Sq.Malta 1942 Done Dewoitine D.520 - Syria 1942 Done SP.A.F. - AT-6D 1960’s Done RAF 336 Sq.(Greek) Hurricane IIc 1942 Done R.H.A.F. (Greek) Spitfire XVIe 1955 Done Bf.109D Sept. 1939 Done RAAF F-4E 69-304 = 1971 Done USAF F-4G 69-304 = 1991 Done P-47D - Puny Pug 1944 57th/66th F.S. Done P-47D -Ay Chuhuahua 1944 57/66th F.S Done Australian Cessna 172 - 1983 Done Hello Kitty Gundam Done My last three years of builds were 2018 = 19 builds, 2019 = 30 builds, & 2020 = 38 builds. So for 2021 I present the 22 that follow. First up was another of my R.S.S.Tuck builds, his pre-war Spitfire Mk.I FZ*L. https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235087639-spitfire-mki-fzl-65-squadron-early-summer-1939/ This was followed by a Gregory Boyington build, his Grumman F3F-2 from Marine Fighting 2 San Diego 1938. https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235089169-marine-fighting-two-san-diego-1938-gregory-boyington-usmc/ Next up the three builds from the ANZAC Group build, which Im happy to say was a a success and popular. They are RAAF P-40N “Hep Cat” 1944. https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235091387-p-40n-a29-1021-“hep-cat”-75-squadron-raaf-1945/ Along with an RNZAF P-40E in the Pacific Scheme from 1943. https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235091340-nz3036-p-40e-circa-1943/ The last of the three was an RAAF Meteor N.F.11 from 1964. https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235091388-meteor-nf11tt20-wm373-woomera-missile-test-range-south-australia-1964/ While building these I also built an RNZAF A-4K scooter in the A-4 stgb. https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235091339-a-4k-nz6201-75-squadron-1976/ Next came my only contribution to armor clanky target type things. I built a Stug.IIIG Kursk 1943. Turns out I never did an RFI for this one, so here is a link to the build thread. https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235087984-my-first-stug-“löwe”/ In the Africa group build I built an Hasegawa F4F Wildcat as a R.N. Martlet Mk.III. Im must not have done an RFI for this either. I only seem to have a build log ? https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235089919-martlet-iii-egypt-august-1941/ I started to do a thread dedicated to the aircraft of the U.S.S.Essex in April if 1945. In fact starting in January the other two builds will be coming the Avenger and Helldiver. For the Bristol Aircraft group build I backdated an Airfix Mk.X Beaufighter to Mk.VIc standard. https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235100497-beaufighter-mkvic-malta-1942/ For French Fancy I opted to do a Dewoitine D.520 from Syria 1942. https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235100498-free-french-air-force-d520/ I was really happy with this next build, probably my favorite for the year to be honest. I built an Encore 1/72 AT-6D from the Spanish Air Force in the late 1960’s used in the Spanish North African war. https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235100733-at-6d-lagarto-lizard-1975/ I started my Hellenic Air Force collection this year. First up were the Hawker Hurricane IIc in R.A.F. 336 Sq. Colors 1942 North Africa. https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235100820-a-pair-of-greek-fighters-across-time/ Along with Spitfire Mk.XVIc 1955. Another one Im happy with is this SMG Bf.109D from the September 1939 used during the Polish Invasion. https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235100819-jg102-september-1939-“dora”-in-poland/ I seem to have gotten into dual builds this year and its something Im planning on continuing. I did a dedication build to the 57Th Fighter Group and My two Dogs all in the same build. The planes wear legitimate nose art as worn by #’s 73 & 78. #73 is “Ay Chuhuahua” and #78 is “Puny Pug”. I lost my 15 tear old Pug and 16 year old Chihuahua three months apart in 2020 and it still hurts. https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235101150-a-pair-of-dogs-a-dedication-build/ These decals come from an ancient Microscale sheet printed in the 1980’s. The squadron logo’s on the nose and the Puny pug nose art on #78 were custom printed. Following the dual build ideas in the F-4 Phantom STGB. I did a beginning and ending of an single airframe 69-0304. https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235101856-69-304-an-f-4-phantoms-life-from-beginning-to-end/ This aircraft started life as an R.A.A.F. F-4E in 1970. And finished as an U.S.A.F. F-4G Wild Weasel in the early 1990’s. Here seen just after Desert Storm ended. The last aircraft was a Cessna 172D operated by the Victoria Air Cadets in Australia 1983. https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235097769-vh-din-raaf-air-cadets/ Last up for the year was something I built as a quick respite. My wife the love of my life that puts up with all my lunacy and issue’s has a thing for “Hello Kitty”. In 2020 I saw this kit listed by Bandai but never thought Id see one. However for her Birthday this year I came across a few in what amounts to the local hobby shop. So It was bought and finally built in October or early November. https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235101462-hk-rx-78-gunpla/ Thank you for joining me along my years path of builds. It would've been closer to 30-32 if I hadn't had the disruptions this year. Yes I know its not a competition, I just need to build its my OCD compulsion. If I don't build I feel lost.
John Laidlaw
Even with the disruptions, that is an excellent score for the year - and there's some fine modelling and painting in that lot as well. Brilliant stuff, Dennis!

JeroenS
"only" 22 builds Dennis? 🙂 Still a respectable number I'd say! I do hope that 2022 will bring you a full year without interruptions, have a good one!
