1/48 Vampire F1, FB6, FB30/31 Conversions for Airfix Vampire F3 from Wells Props Models

Hi all,

 

After some time away from CAD modelling and 3D printing, I'm back with new products! These are intended as a direct drop-in replacement for Airfix's 1/48 Vampire F3.

 

Postage is, £4 (UK) and £8 (international).

FB6 Conversion - £15

 

Long nose (with nose door)

New cockpit (with integral ejection seat)

Control stick

Export variant main wheels

 

 

 

 

 

As can be seen above, the cockpit is a one peice direct replacement for the Airfix kit part. 

 

As an optional extra, I intend to include the external fuel tanks and rockets. 

 

FB30/31 - £15

 

Elephant Ears intakes

ADF Nose Bulge

Cockpit (and ejection seat)

 

 

 

Seamless Exhaust - £4 (+£2.50 postage UK only)

Initially, just the booms, for the later F1 variant.

 

I am looking at doing a vacform canopy and possibly resin casting for the earlier canopy.

Early Sea Vampire would be nice aswel, with the arrestor housing/fairing, probably limited market though.

Would like to see the high altitude version 🙂 On the other hand I guess it is still available from Alicat.

It's on the "to-do" list, need to figure out how to best do the canopy!

The good news is, the design is all good. Just a couple adjustments needed to the 3D printing supports

It wasn't the conversion I couldn't see catching on but Amos being happy with what was on offer, no demands. Sorry if I'm over literalising this.

The conversion looks cool, I've a similar one in injected plastic from Jays models in 1/72, it is a neat idea.

I wasn't sure if the two seaters were a leap too far, and exactly what is required from conversion from the single seaters, but man a decent NF.10 would be something else!
