I was part of the 509th from late 75 through 76 before I went to RAF Lakenheath to replace the F-4D with the F-111F's in July of 1977. We used to see plenty of F111’s mooching about at low level in the UK back in the day - they always looked big and muscular and these photo’s just reinforce that.
