Gollum and Bilbo 54 mm

Ted

Recommended Posts

Here's a set from Mithril Miniatures, a 54 mm model of Gollum and Bilbo Baggins telling riddles in the dark. I've sunk the little white metal base into a block of yew and sort of sculpted the old woodgrain into rocks. Might need a bit more putty and sculpting to be convincing.

The biggest challenge will be making it dark, Gollum's eyes were the only source of light but how the heck do I paint that. We'll see.

I had to rush to get this done for Christmas and forgot to add a photo. I did end up using some matte varnish to take down the sheen after taking this photo.

Thats some good looking working Ted, They do make glow in the dark paint’s. Oddly enough Ive read that some laundry detergents (Tide here in the states) fluoresce and glow under certain lights. So maybe research it and add a drop to his eyes ?

Cool idea! Thanks

“my precious - Gollum Gollum (cough)”

Gollum is my absolute favourite character from Lord of the rings and you have done a great job on both him and Mr. Baggins 👍

Thanks! Gollum is the best.
