Turkish web page opens when clicking on the Britmodeller home page

Recommended Posts

Just tested it myself, and it leads me where it's supposed to - Britmodeller.  As @ckw said, it sounds like a browser hijack, so look up how to deal with that on t'internet and wish you good luck with dealing with it.  Sometimes you have to use a tool of some sort, or uninstall your browser, so once you've got it sorted, it would be helpful if you could report back with hints & tips for the masses, myself included :)

Now it opens normally. The Turkish page seams to be nothing unappropiate.A google search showed that it is the web page of a Handwerker (sorry but I do not know the english word) in Istanbul but I certainly will not open it.

A better bet to deal with that specific problem would be Malwarebytes.  Download/install the free version, run it and see what it finds.  As a recently retired IT specialist I can say it's the best I've ever found at dealing with all types of malware and was my go-to solution for years without a problem or finding something it couldn't beat.

I recommend to delete your Britmodeller shortcut from your browser. Then run 'clear history' (Chronik löschen) of your browser. Then follow this path on Windows: Programs - Accessories (Zubehör) - System Programs (Systemprogramme) - File cleaning (Datenträgerbereinigung), run this for all volumes (Datenträger). Then create a new shortcut for the Britmodeller website. Should be resolved now.
