USS Freedom (LCS-1) 1/350 Bronco Models

Not a very conventional ship.

And one that had quite a short life, commissioned in 2008 and decommissioned 2021 and from what I've read it was plagued with problems. 

That said it does look good with nice lines and it does stand out in 'dazzle' camo.

The paint used was the excellent Colourcoats.

I didn't, on this occasion, have to add any PE as Bronco had included it all. I do wish more manufacturers would do this.

Very nice indeed, loving the drone. Was that included? If this is not one of your best then I'm very much looking forward to your next build. Can't believe that a ship looking as she does has been and gone from service already!?!

Thanks. Yeah, two drones and two helicopters included. It was decommissioned in September this year, from what I can see on the web, this ship had lots of faults, so probably never really fulfilled its full potential. I also gather it was costing way more to run than it should have done, and broke down a far bit.

Lovely build, I've got the Trumpeter version along with a Bronco Independence class LCS on the shelf of doom. 

 

I believe it's only the first couple of ships in both classes that are being decommissioned, as the early ships were very much development examples with many changes being made to the design as time elapsed. The newer ships incorporate many of

the lessons learned the hard way with the first and second of class.

Beautiful build Jon of an extremely good looking vessel, and lighting really does make a massive difference to how that ocean grey appears. I second comments above - if this is not your best I can't wait to see what the future holds!
