Rod The Fixer
Hi all, I'm starting to assemble this HobbyBoss kit: by Rodolfo Masti, on Flickr The first-of-class of the Type 039 submarine No320 was launched 1994 at Wuchang Shipyard, and started sea trials in August 1995. Aurange
I have this kit, too, but I've stopped because I don't like the lack of detail for the snorkel and periscopes. Are you going to have those extended or leave the hatches on the sail closed? I also have the Yuan (Type 039A) which has good detail on its radar and the snorkel isn't as skinny. BTW, the second photo above is the Yuan, which you can identify by the lack of the diesel exhaust "lip" that extends aft from the sail. Very nice kit, though. I look forward to how you'll finish it! Terry1954
I have the Bronco version, not sure if they are the same. You have made an excellent job so far. Hope you don't mind me sharing mine. I had to scratch build most of the antena. Will follow with much interest! Terry

I think to leave the hatches closed and put the submarine in a resin sea ... Thank for the tip, I removed the second photo to avoid confusion 😉
