89) P40 M based in aerial photos taken in June 1944 at Admore.

This is indeed a very unusual and interesting paint scheme. I have never seen a RNZAF Kittyhawk with a white nose before.

These P40's at the time were based at RNZAF Station Ardmore  (South of  Auckland),

as part of No. 4 OTU at Ardmore, for advanced fighter training for Pilots, who would later move onto

the likes of the F4U Corsair.

The White is most likely a part of an aircraft ID scheme. Because it's an

an aerial shot, there are no discernible Serials.

Edit or see more info in Santiago's post with link above

Just going through this thread left me with these impressions:

1.  To say this was an ambitious project is an understatement.

2.  Your father is a beast to complete so many models in so little time.

3.  Who would have thought there were so many variations of schemes for the P-40.

4.  How on earth did he keep the motivation to complete all of the models and maintain such a high level of assembly and painting?

5.  Can he assemble the main kit used in his sleep?

6.  Your friend that does the decals does amazing work; keep him as a friend!

7.  Did I mention how in awe I am at the depth and breath of how absolutely imposing your goals were and how well you have achieved them?

8.  Congrats to your Dad and you for helping him on this massive undertaking.  I am absolutely amazed at it.
