Paul J
Having not long ago got back from a week of winter sun down in the Canaries I have just sorted out a few pics of the more interesting 'spots' I recorded . The airport was a 40 45 minute walk from the holiday villa I stayed at and the approach and departures were easily seen from the villa pool. On my first full day there I did see a pair of Hornets make a landing at the airport but too far away for pics and also they were a bit too quick for me. But later in the week I took myself for a long walk to the airport boundary and managed several landings and departure shots. A small selection here for your delight. The fencing was a bit of a pain as there are two lots of it and taking pics from a lower level made getting decent pics difficult. I found a kind of a structure with a flat surface that gave me the height to shoot above the fence. This helped getting pics of the Pumas An unusual thing about this 787 was it landed on, taxied back to the other end of the runway and departed again. These pics are of the take off. Maybe a proving flight as everything else I saw were Boeing 737s and AIrbus A 320 and 321. One of the many movements vy ATR72 was this one. CASA 212. There was a CN235 during the week that flew over where I was staying at Puerto del Carmen. The above two pics of the Super Puma were taken the day before I came home and they landed on during the morning. This is when I went for the walk to the airport to see if I could pics of them before they left. Though a little fuzzy and some heat haze its the best I could do. You may notice the tail end of a UH-1N and to my surprise after I uploaded the pics when I got home noticed the Mirage F.1 in the background. Probably there as the base gate guard. There is a small museum just outside the airport within the original terminal building. I did not get to visit it but noted outside a Piper Cherokee all in white and an engine cowl with prop that came from a Constellation going by the shape of it. Sorry but no pics of these.

ColinChipmunkfan
Nice photos Paul, the first one is very dramatic just after takeoff, Interesting to see the amount of wing flex going on. Thanks for posting. Colin
Swamp Donkey
Agree, the B787 looks good and I like the livery on that Binter ATR. Looking at Google Earth, appears that the Mirage F1 resides on a roundabout on the other side of the airfield SD
