airfixpeter
It's been in the stash long enough and as I don't build many bikes it's time to get it sorted once and for all here's what I found in the box
arfa1983
Looks interesting. I want to build a motorcycle one of these days so will be watching with interest.
rob Lyttle
Right O, I'll wish you good luck and enjoyment with this on 2 counts.... I've been having some fun with a 1.9 scale bike, namely a racing Gilera, by the Protar Co.. I had a Triumph T100 for a good few years.... Plus a few others along the way. I'm new to motorbike modelling and learning as I go, but it's my understanding that Italeri has taken over the Protar business - (which was also Italian, and their large back catalogue reflects this) . My guess is that this is a reissue of a Protar tooling. Their bikes were all in 1.9 scale. It's a great size to be working with. I had a look in one of these boxes a couple of weeks ago in the local model shop to see what the kit offers for the final drive chain and sprockets, as this is a real weak point with the kits. For example the Gilera kit solution is a rubber band on a pulley type of wheel...... 😲 Going from memory I think you get a moulded loop on the vinyl sprue which could be an improvement.... I'll be interested to see how it works out for you. But these bikes at this size have a great "presence" as they build up on the bench. I only stumbled on to this GB more or less to find out what the title letters stand for. I think I need to stick around here though, it's just what I need for a few loitering projects! 👍
airfixpeter
I found out why I left it as there are no numbers on the spure so I am constantly going back to the front page to find the parts however I am going to persist so I have started on the front forks and made the front wheel. Added the rear wheel and chain and seat. And finally put it all together so nw I have something that resembles a motorbike.

Thinking further Italerai did seem to be a specialist for that and I think maybe Bandai
roginoz
Got a printer ? Print out the sprue map page. Easyyyyyy! The Triumph builds up into a nice kit, let down, as others have suggested, by what passes a chain. One part of motorbike models that has not kept up with modern tooling. These Aurora/Esci/Italeri kits in 1/9, despite showing their age, have, as @rob Lyttle notes, quite a presence on the bench and in the display cabinet. I've built the BMW solo & sidecar, Zundapp likewise, Harley 750 both as the military version and as a "copy "of one I used to own in the 60's, also the Triumph and Norton racer. Oh, and the Dragon Kettenkrad. All of these kits are a product of their time and deserve accurate reissue. Until that time, they'll do me and most friends who admire them. Good luck with the build.
