Just 18 14 original Matchbox subjects still not accounted for, that's pretty good going.

The Missing subjects are -

Orange Series - Military kits - 1 kit

PK-172 : Morris C8 MK-II & 17pdr Gun, Willys Jeep (1977 / 1983)

I'd love to do this one but the only kits available on eBay are going for silly money - this GB seems to have had an inflationary effect.. 😄

Can I please add two more kits, I've found a Revell (ex Matchbox PK-507) Puma HC.1 and a PK-34 Aeritalia G91Y lurking in the darkest recesses of the loft.

@Rabbit Leader just in case this was missed, don't forget to add these to the master list for me🙂

James, yes they were missed so I’ll happily fall on my sword in utter disgrace!
I’m just getting ready to go to work so give me a little time and I’ll update the build list accordingly.

Many thanks for the reminder and picking out these two excellent kits to build here.

Cheers.. Dave

Was having a quiet read of Carbonel's book the other morning and all of a sudden an SMS pinged through and lo and behold it was Dave @Rabbit Leader and I mentioned to him in reply of the list in the book of Matchbox "ring-ins" and duly sent him a photo of the page but it was very fuzzy so here is the list intertwined with the listing from Page 1.

Matchbox labelled / other manufacturers kits (various)

1:72 Aircraft Post 1992

40002 - Mitsubishi Zero (Frog would you believe!  Someone on the Forklift really effed up there picking up that mould!)

40012 - Macchi MC202 Folgore (Frog / Revell)

40019 - Polikarpov I-16 (Revell)

40020 - Fiat CR42 Falco (Revell)

40135 - Dornier Do335 (Frog / Revell)

40139 - Tornado F3 (He has a Question Mark on this one as he reckons it's ex Revell but it's the Matchbox Kit which Scalemates also says it is so scrub this one)

40140 - P-70 Nightfighter (Revell)

40143 - Yak-15 (PM)

40144 - Fokker D XXI (Carbonel says Frog but it would have to be the PM kit as the Frog kit went to the Soviet Union and Scalemates also says it's the PM kit)

40145 - Bell AH-1 Seacobra (He has a Question Mark on this one but in the Text He says it's from Ace in Korea)

40147 - Horten GO 229 A-1 (PM)

40148 - Hawker Sea Fury T-20 (PM)

40149 - Vultee BT-13 (PM)

40200 - Ta154 (PM) (Already on the list - Walter)

40201 - Beech AT-11 Kansan (PM)

40202 - Heinkel He 219 'Uhu' (Frog) (Already on the list - PeterB)

40203 - Mil Mi-24 Hind (He has a Question Mark on this one but in the Text He says it's from ESCI)

40414 - F-117A Stealth (Revell) (Already on the list - Adm Lord de Univers)

40415 - AH-64A Apache (Revell)

40416 - Arado Ar234 Blitz (Frog)

40417 - Dornier Do17Z (Frog)

40607 - MiG-29 (Revell)

40608 - F-15C Eagle (Revell)

40610 - PBY-5 Catalina (Revell)

1:72 Armour Post 1992

40179 - M1 Abrams (ACE in Korea although in the Text for some reason Carbonel also says ESCI) (Already on the list - Ernie)

40180 - Sturmegeschutz IV (ACE in Korea) (Already on the list - TonyW)

40181 - Sherman M4 (ACE in Korea)

40182 - Leopard II (ACE in Korea although in the Text for some reason Carbonel also says ESCI)

40183 - T-80B Soviet Main Battle Tank (ACE in Korea) (Already on the list - Dazzio)

1:144 and 1:35 and 1:35 I'll edit in later as I'm having (yet another) coughing fit at the moment.

Thanks Rob

Is there any way of getting a list of the AMT/Matchbox kits, I would have loved to have seen more of those, especially the big American trucks.

Who knows we might still be lucky

Cheers Pat

I put Matchbox/AMT into the Scalemates search engine.

You might want to sit down before you try it - '63 Corvette anyone? 😀

Managed to pick up another one of the airline kits off eBay.  Hoping to get the complete set but the bid snipers are beating me to it.  Good news is plenty come up despite the supposed ‘rarity’.

This is the PK-802 Boeing 727.  Will be doing this in the American Airlines livery methinks.

All complete.  Nice, crisp moulding and the decal sheet looks in excellent shape.

Hi Dave,

With this group build being so close to featuring the whole range, since I have them I'll jump in with the following:

PK-119 : SAAB VIGGEN (1976 according to the box and 1977 according to the instructions and plastic)

Well done Daniel @Daniel Cox, excellent stuff. I’m afraid I’ve been away for the last week and the wifi reception where I was was quite bad. I’m back home now so will do my best to update and visit many missed threads in the next few days. So good to see both the Single Seat Viggen and large 109 make an appearance, they are most welcome indeed.

Cheers.. Dave

An extremely belated update from your Co-Host, who appears to be the only member not progressing or finishing his/her builds!

A truly awesome contribution by everyone since the last update which now sees only two original Matchbox kits (1/32 Dauntless and Barry Sheen's Suzuki) not taking part.

Although 175 kits out of 177 subjects have been nominated, it may be a bit difficult to get at least one of each kit finished in the gallery, however this is a marvellous input and we still have approx. eight weeks until the end.

Great going everyone, I'm proud of all of you. Big push to the end although even I admit the mojo is certainly waning a little.

(*Note - following data based on original Matchbox subjects unless noted)

Total Matchbox Kits - 177 (Aircraft / AFV / Cars & Motorbikes / Ships )

Total Matchbox kit subjects chosen in this GB - 175

Percentage of Matchbox subjects covered in this GB - 98.9%

Total Matchbox Aircraft kits - 120

Total Aircraft kits chosen in this GB - 119 (all but the 1/32 Dauntless)

Percentage of Aircraft kits covered in this GB - 99%

Total Matchbox AFV kits - 27

Total AFV kits chosen in this GB - 27

Percentage of AFV kits covered in this GB - 100%

Total Matchbox Cars & Motorbike kits - 18

Total Cars & Motorbike kits chosen in this GB - 17 (all but Barry Sheen's Suzuki)

Percentage of Cars & Motorbike kits covered in this GB - 94%

Total Matchbox Ship kits - 12

Total Ship kits chosen in this GB - 12

Percentage of Ship kits covered in this GB - 100%

Total overall Matchbox GB Builds - 304 (.i.e. - WIP threads including non-Matchbox designed kits)

Total overall Matchbox GB Completions - 128 (42.1%)

While The Beau if drying I took a trip to the loft and dragged out a later boxing Lightning and when I worked in the LMS A Chap sold me about 4 Meteor NF's at a good price, I can see why now!!

Anyhow I had parked these kits and they now longer hit the mark but with the group build no better time to Roll with them so they were started today. I have made the F.6 about 5 times already so now it well the Meteor not so.....

The F.6 will be Grey Green Camo and both will be 5 Sqn birds.

Oh no! I just came across what appears to be PK-460 Matchbox 1:48 Spitfire Mk. VIII. This is not in the build list but is listed in Scalemates and there are a couple on eBay…
