Andrea Manfroi
Hello fellow modelers, I've just finished the 1/48 NakajimaJ1N-S "Gekko" (Moonlight) Japanese night-fighter. I found this kit one day at my local model shop and I bought it just because it was not a common subject. The built has been really nice and enjoyable like almost all Tamiya kits. Painting is a bit less exciting because it is just overall IJN green (apart motor cowlings) but at the end I'm quite happy with the outcome. Enjoy pictures and as usual comments and feedback are more than welcome. Cheers Andy
Pete in a shed
Great work! the finish looks just the job. The panel lining, open panels, exhaust staining and drooped elevators have really brought the model to life. Pete
Volksjager
Very nice. Love the sleek lines of the Gekko. Your detail work looks great and the overall IJN Green looks full of life. I have the same kit & must finish it someday
GREG DESTEC
Excellent modelling 👍 The finish/paintwork is outstanding. Not as subject you see often do very nice for a change. Cheers Greg
Remus389
Very spectacular model of a rare aircraft. 👍
Macsporran
Nice model. I didn't know about these aircraft with their upward firing cannons - and their success against B17s and B29s. Your excellent model piqued my interest and made me google the Gekko to learn the history. Thanks for sharing - and the new-learned knowledge. Robin
Very interesting model that has an excellent finish. This seems to use the same system of upward firing cannon as that used on the Me "Shrage Music" that the Luftwaffe used with great success.
