1/48 Tamyia F-14A V33 Starfighters

This was built for my father, with a few special touches as well. First the pilot figure has been painted to look like him and reflect his favorite football program. The VF-33 decals were chosen because in June of 1981 the starfighters began using the F-14. That is significant because I was his first born, June of 81.

Besides all of that, this was my first go at a aircraft, as well as using an airbrush for the first time. Plenty of mistakes were made, this kit is far from perfect, but man I'm pretty proud of it. This won't be my last aircraft. Definitely a blast to build.

Brilliant first build and the figures really add to it, you have every reason to be proud, keep building, keep enjoying, that’s what

its all about, good job!

I'll never be a pro, but I don't strive to be.   I do this for the enjoyment.

Great job! Your father must love it!

We saw him yesterday and he is still beaming over it.    He does wood working for a hobby and has built a base for it, and having someone do a custom glass enclosure for it.

Great model and very well done with first model using the airbrush loving the detail and what you have achieved. I am in the same boat. We'll done 👍

I don't know why I stuck to spray cans for so long.   I love the airbrush!

That’s lovely.  And a great job painting the figures, I’m no good at all when it comes to that.

These were super small, so I could get away with some imperfections.   I know they are there, but dad didn't see them.

Wow! Your first aircraft and your first time with an airbrush!?! You should be pleased and proud of such a fantastic model. 11 out of 10 for a brilliant result.

Wow, thank you!

Thank you.   I didn't want to do too much, I think I did just the right amount.
