Popular Post russ c
Hi Everyone, just completed the latest addition to my `Nam` collection My latest shot at Monogram`s 1/48 F-102 kit Built pretty much out of the box contents Only additions being some seat cushions, belts, cockpit placards and lots of Milliput🙂 Decals came from LDecals Studio set 48008 `No MiGs today` Found a site on internet called `Daggers in Vietnam` which had a few photo`s of aircraft with some wear and tear evident and the spine clear of antenna and collision lights, which is how I`ve attempted to present this one Hope you enjoy the pic`s, thanks for looking Cheers Russ 77

stevej60
Superb build Russ,I never realised they served in Vietnam in this scheme I've only seen them in SEA camoflaged versions.
exhausted
You did a badass job. You polished the painted surface, creating a super-realistic result. The exhaust section looks convincing. You weathered well, but did not over-weather the aircraft or fall victim to "gridding" the panel lines. Looks very nice and I hope my F-102s turn out that well so I can display them nicely.
ColinChipmunkfan
Superb modelling Russ, the first photo looks like a reference photo rather than a model. Well done sir!! Colin

toniosky
Love it with the worn out nose and the reflection on the wings. Great job !
JWM
Really impressive build! I did not known that F 102 flown in Vietnam still in 1966! Moreover, I lived in opinion, apparently wrong, that all USAF machines in Vietnam had three colors upper scheme, and not such light grey with red air superiority livery. Thank you for sharing Regards J-W

binbrook87
That's outstanding. I do love the '102...a very elegant aircraft that just looks right from every angle. You've done a fine job on the 'old' kit. Just one question....it looks like engraved panel lines...but i thought these old Monogram kits were raised?

Thanks, re:panel lines, I sanded them all flush and drew them in later with a pencil using the instructions as a guide. Then varnished and weathered. SAT69
That old kit can be a challenge to build without a lot of putty. You've done a magnificent job on it and can display most proudly.
Lightningboy2000
Absolutely superb! Really going to have to do that pencil line with some of my older kits! Martin
kapam
Your usual top-notch work, for sure! The pencil panel lines are quite a brilliant concept (I've never been diligent enough to go at full re-scribing like some do). Excellent results as always!
Pete in a shed
Nice one Russ. The pencil lining works a treat, will have to try that. And those missiles must have taken an age to do. Pete
modelling minion
Another stunning addition to your Vietnam collection Russ. Shows what a great result can be achieved with this classic kit, I like the drawn on panel lines, very effective.
