binbrook87
Hello all Latest off the workbench this week is the TF-104G from Kinetic. Absolutely delightful kit with no problems apart from the nosewheel assembly which I found really fiddly and awkward...but this may have my error. I chose to finish the aircraft in the latter briefly used Norm 83 Lizard camouflage which came just as the aircraft were being retired. I decided to leave the tip tanks in the previous dayglo scheme having seen some photos of the later aircraft still 'mix and matching' the fitment of the tanks. Paints were a mixture of Mr Hobby aqueous and Tamiya, plus my trusted Vallejo for the orange. Final matt varnish was from W&N. Hope you like. Comments much appreciated. Thanks for looking.

Retired Bob
That looks superb, I agree the Kinetic F-104 is a great kit, I have several to build, really like it with the day-glo tanks.
billn53
Excellent! The camo is especially good, and is nicely offset by the day-glow tanks.

Mikey-1980
Lovely build! Did you retpuch the tanks for a brighter orange in the end?

No i stuck with the original colour but rubbed some of the weathering off.. although the photos show them brighter than they really are. I was aiming for a faded look but it's not quite worked out as i hoped. I wasn't brave enough to either overspray the orange with bits of yellow ....or take a sanding stick to it! 😬 More practice needed

It seemed a good idea at the time but not so sure now I've seen it completed? I may go and repaint back to original at some point ....
