You lot may be but there is no family or indeed any DNA evidence that I am. in any way connected with that rabble. Even the Ice Warriors won't have anything to do with them! What you actually see in the film is a riot following a football (soccer for you Colonial types) match between the supporters of the arch rivals Pyramids Athletic and Demos United My antecedents are the nobility of the satellite Phobos. On a slightly more sensible note, I have managed to make a small start on detailing the gondolas of the Snowman kit and have done the drawings necessary for the outriggers. I am replacing the two dimensional etch in the kit with soldered 0.3mm brass rod as per the 1/720 scale Mark 1 Models kitsI have built. heloman1
Sounds good Martin. I'm thinking, I need to make a start on getting to grips with soldering. I need the seat frame for a Wessex HAS MK3! If those people across the pond call it soddering, do they send sodders to war? Colin
Brandy
As in "Rum, soddery, and the stash"? Remember they also use some weird stuff called "rosin", and "y'all" is singular, not Plural! Weird people! Ian

Pete in Lincs
At least it was only toast rack. We'll be okay so long as no one mentions Muffins. OOPS!

Learstang
Nice to see you posting again, your Martianness! I hadn't checked this thread in a while* and was sorry to hear about your problems. I'm certain you'll get everything sorted out! Best Regards, Jason *Yes, I'll go stand in a corner for a bit for not checking in on this thread. My excuse is that I've been working on my writing and my books. Do you believe that? Neither do I. 2

Whofan
Dear Martian, best regards for your health - the sheer fun that accompanies your builds makes life so much more interesting! Speaking of interesting, I noticed in the latest IPMS magazine listing of Special guest displays at SMW, a guest display by a Martin Hale. Who might just be an alter ego of the Martian? now if it is, I hope that your are not letting it get on top of you, but you have given me a target for this year’s SMW, to get out of the hospital bed I’m in and get well enough to attend SMW for the special guest display! My wife says I’m not going to go, but as I pointed out, when I go, it will be because I am fully fit and well. So hoping to meet an equally fully fit and well Martian at SMW!

That is a gross exaggeration and far from the truth…….it was the second, third and forth years plus there were some pretty rum goings-on in the upper sixth metalwork classes I can tell you. Oh, and it was ‘Hat Rack’….please get it right. This is what happens when I’m away for five minutes visiting Loch Lomond, (a sassenach knee deep in Trossachs, if you will) bravely scaling the east face of Ben Lomond wearing nothing but my trusty moustache, a pair of battle hardened brogues, my regimental shredded tartan sporran and an ever-widening maniacal smile….hoots mon. 1

I never mentioned soddering and if the colonial types round these parts used the correct term, things would not have got smutty. Well; to be honest, they probably would have but in a different way. 17 minutes ago, general melchett said: That is a gross exaggeration and far from the truth…….it was the second, third and forth years plus there were some pretty rum goings-on in the upper sixth metalwork classes I can tell you. This is what happens when you don't wear anything under that regimental kilt of yours. Hopefully any midges that have taken advantage of this are now ex-midges. 14 hours ago, Whofan said: Dear Martian, best regards for your health - the sheer fun that accompanies your builds makes life so much more interesting! Firstly, get yourself well, get out of that hospital bed and get your Earthling butt up to Telford. The display is indeed mine and realistically I will probably overdo things getting it ready but better to feel physically unwell than mentally so. As an added incentive for you, my costumier is making a special IPMS 60th anniversary outfit for the event which she assures me is even sillier than usual.
