No prizes will be awarded for more fatuous comments made earlier or later.  There's something about politics that inspires such things from even such a (normally) level-headed audience.

I suppose I shouldn't speak for the owners of the site, who perhaps may be organising just such a competition.  However I can say that I will not be awarding any prize to anyone quoting any of my postings in this contest!

When visiting the Brussels museum, I never found their Battle in a good spot for photographing it from above; either underneath the Bollingbroke/Blenheim and Mosquito or underneath a balcony.   I checked my pictures from back then when it was possible to take photos with flash there - on my last visit I got a stern talking to for taking pictures with flash in the courtyard to lighten the shadows on a tank partially in the sun.

The Brussels Battle photos I found on my harddrive can be downloaded:

Hello,
I'm new here and so I missed the link of the pictures from the Brussels Battle.
Can anybody repost them in a new wetransfer link please ?
Looking for references to build my Belgian Battle.
Thx

Better be quick, WeTransfer has shortened the time the download will be available

I have pictures of a third Battle as well, a trainer / target tug in Ottawa - will wait until they are to release that version.

Pretty sure Fairey brought the real Battle to market more quickly.

Specification P.27/32 was issued April 1933, first flight March 1936.

This thread began in November 2021, so it’s a dead heat!

Edit: I hadn’t read the last few pages, but facetiousness aside I’m firmly in the ‘I’ll be lining up to show support whenever this is released’ camp.

And Fairey didn't have to deal with air raids and power cuts and possibly staff being drafted.

Maybe by Christmas?🤞

Now the release estimate is first week of November. Just decals and instructions need printing.

I hope Special Hobby will soon release a mask set too.

I have the Belgian boxing on back-order since 2022 so hope this also includes parts to build the British version too as the decal sheet, last time I looked, included an example from the AASF in May/June 1940. That said will they be releasing all three boxings at the same time I wonder or just one of them initially perhaps? In which case I probably need to get the other two on back-order just in case.

Given all the sprue shots now released you'd think the release will be soon although 'soon' is open to pretty wide interpretation in this case, and just hope SH release a canopy mask for it to coincide as well as don't fancy trying to paint free hand!

Pat.

Ps. I very much suspect the kit will sell out immediately and be almost as hard to get hold of as Oasis tickets so hope Hannants get a good initial supply

I think we will see kits of RAF Battles later under Special Hobby own brand. That is not the first time they start with French/Belgian/other markings produced for FRROM and then issue the same kit under SH logo with other markings.

Main concern is how much time it takes to produce another batch of sprues for SH own kits?

Would make more sense given everything for the molds to be located at SH and then produced in appropriate boxings/brand names perhaps?

Fortunately Azur doesn't have "dynamic" pricing!

"Seen this queue at Sotheby's? You'd think they're putting the Crown Jewels up for auction"

" Dear no! But I overheard there is something called The Last Battle of Azur over there. Must be an extremely rare work of art"

The Last Battle of Azur

La dernière bataille d'Azur :)

That way it sounds a bit more pricey. But stop. The play of words is lost. Let be 'The last Battle of Azur' then :)

"Battle at 1/72: assembly instructions validated, in production (they should arrive early next week), soon in stores (and on our site). In TELFORD, you should be able to see a box of each Battle at Special Hobby (and/or at Hannant), they should take the plane with the Special Hobby team!"
