Fairey Battles in 1/72 nd: at least some good news!

1 - clear parts finished (injected in totality)

2 - the person in charge will resume the work on the two missing molds in two weeks (polishing the Fuselage and Small Parts)

. Now we are closer to completion. Release not before end of April 2024.

One could think making this kit is a uphill battle.

Now I will excuse myself for this pun.

As I understand this is not optional open/closed canopy but actually a canopy comprising six consecutive sections. Probably some of which could be posed in opened position.

Or maybe the rearmost section has two optional parts here for opened/closed choices.

I see 4 canopy sections - windscreen, pilots canopy, main fixed canopy and gunners canopy, as well as the bomb aimers window underneath, the wing leading edge landing lights and the underside navigation lights (little circles).

The gunner's canopy hinged around the little triangles at the indented space on the lower section of the main bit

It's the fourth of June today and the kit is being produced in a country under almost constant aerial attack, quite a bit of being directed at infrastructure. If the mould makers are working in Kharkiv, it is probably pretty horrible. I think release dates under these conditions are to be taken as expectations rather than set in stone.

I can only add that for kit making the larger problems are not aerial attacks per se. Scarcity of electricity and of working hands are much more seriously impacting manufacturers of any kind.

I can wait. The better thing is to prioritize the power needs of the population.

Latest updated from the Ffrom website:

“Fairey Battles in 1/72 nd: at least!  Production is suffering in Ukraine (power shortcuts), so the molds will be transferred in two weeks to Prague (please see below). Schemes in dedicated pages (FR0046 to FR0048), notice in page FR0046. Hopefully release in September 2024, if everything goes well.”

Swear to God, much more delays with anything and MODELERS will be on Putler's doorstep to have a word about the continued nonsense! 😁

I am not convinced that Putin and his cronies will lose much sleep over reports of upset scale modellers around the world.

Ukraine has managed to become home to a large number of active model companies,

That they manage to keep going and export their products despite the war is impressive.

Hearing the interview with the spokeswoman for ICM, the loss of staff to the armed forces and destruction of infrastructure was just something they had to deal with.

Surprisingly, Russian  mailorder companies offer a good selection of newly released Ukrainian kits and Russian magazines review the same kits.

Besides making molds on contract, I can think of the following Ukrainian kit manufacturers - some of which may have moved part of the operations to neighboring countries.

Amodel (with a couple of other brands like SOVA)

BPK or Big Plane Kits

Clear Prop

Dora Wings

ICM - with an impressive release schedule

MikroMir

MiniArt

Modelsvit.

That's true, they do.  But they always identify the source of the kit as "Kiev," Киев, not Ukraine, or Ukraine's spelling of the capital, Kyiv.  When they review other countries' kits, they identify the internationally recognized state, such as "Poland" or "France," or "Czechia."  Even Russian modeling magazines are taking the step of denying Ukraine its statehood, and have been doing so since at least February 2022.

Saying they are from Kiev may be to encourage Russian modellers to buy the kits. Plus the publishers don't want to get in trouble.

Anyway the world has waited decades for a good 1:72 scale Battle, it is just a shame due to politics not everyone will have ready access to it.

Could you guys make a separate topic for this?

Everytime I get a notification from this one, I get my hopes up thinking the Battle is finally released.

A few posts above you have info that release is planned for September if everything will be fine. I'm not exactly sure how this kit could be released sooner. TBH you should expect it on Christmas 2024 so earlier release will be nice surprise.

The above sentence has to be the most fatuous post that I have ever read on Britmodeller.

Oh yes, what a tragedy it is that not 'everyone will have ready access to it'! And it's all "due to politics".
