MIG-15bis Czech Žatec AB 1957

Fellow Modelers,

i always found that the early Russian Jet design looks kind of sexy, the revolutionary MIG-15 Design of Mr. Gurewitsch is no exception.

So no wonder that my first post WW2 build is one, i was a bit unsure which markings it should have till i saw that Czech MIG with that eye-catching camouflage.

As always no decals were used, but the fuselage numbers, which in this case was pretty time consuming as one can imagine.....

With respect to the great design of the MIG-15 my first idea was to built it with the fuselage closed not to detract from the great MIG line but than i started to scratch many parts for the Klimow engine & weapon bay and i decided to show both areas displayed.

Simply superb work, that weathering is very convincing for a hard worked but still active service machine.

Fantastic work, especially on the engine and gun housings. I would really like to do a similar project in 1/72. I dont think there are the aftermarket bits and pieces to help me out🤔

That is really excellent work Hans. The finish and detailing are superb (especially the engine) but the model as a whole is outstanding. Well done!

Thanks Mate, for the wings & fuselage i've mostly used Alclad Aluminium & Dark Aluminium and as an underlying coat at some spots Airframe Aluminium

For the fuselage engine area behind the canopy i used Alclad Dull Aluminium which is more a greyish tone and for the hatches & accents Magnesium

I would say 100 from 100 points! First I like this eyecatching colour sceme. Blue and silver looks always nice. The weathering is really perfect. The engine is spot on! And all in all your presentation and photography is wonderful! Are the decal for this version in the kit?

@Shorty84 Hallo Markus, thanks for your compliments, these markings were indeed exclusively part of the ''Acrobatic Team'' which took part in the 2nd Cultural and sport Celebration in Cottbus Germany ( DDR) in 1957
