Popular Post toniosky
Hello, This is my last project, the F-100D piloted by Capt Allen Lewis and based at Tuy Hoa, circa 1969-70, with the classic “Snake and Nape” configuration. I am a big fan of the type and era, so I was quite motivated by this build. This is the very enjoyable to build 1/48 kit from Trumpeter with many modifications I made myself especially in the cockpit, canopy frame, landing gear bays & legs, extended 335 gal. fuel tanks, modified pylons, new refuelling probe made from brass, refuelling light and much more. I also used some aftermarket goodies such as a correct nose (Renaissance), tyres (ResKit, the one of the kits are horrible), exhaust and seat from Aires, pitot from Master, Eduard’s Mk82 and BLU-27, and a nice but fragile ladder from LP Models. Decals are from Caracal. I hope that you like it as much as I enjoyed this project. Antoine 91
toniosky
Like on the real thing, I extended the 275 gal. tanks in the center section (28-inch, so 1.5cm 1/48) to correspond to the late 335 gal. type

Booty003
Absolutely superb. The cockpit is especially nice and your added extras really add to the overall look. You've really pulled off the look of the Hun with the burnt away paintwork at the rear. C'est Magnifique 1
Pete in a shed
Excellent. I initially thought the first photo was a reference shot! Also I love the dent in the tank, it gives a lovely hint of realism. Pete
Andy Dyck
Jesus Christ, that’s absolute perfect. Also thought the first pic’s are reference. One of the really best weathered models that I saw here last time. Cheers Andy
SAT69
The dent in the fuel tank, the well worn crew entry ladder, the ear defenders hanging from the inboard pylon all speak highly of a quest for the smallest details that allow a model to truly capture a moment in time. Your work is truly astounding!
Gary Brantley
Superb Hun! Your heat effects aft are just great work and very realistic. That is a magnificent scale model!
72modeler
Oh, my- what an incredible model! Best Hun build I have seen in any scale! What the others have said, plus: RBF tags very realistically hung Wheel hubs perfectly painted and stained Hot section the most realistically portrayed of any F-100 build I can recall Fuse wires on bomb load Corrected sit of the main gear struts Now you need to do an F-100F WW to go with this one...maybe Bud Day's Hun? Deano353
Very nice F-100 I have wanted one for a long time. I'm surprised Trumpeter didn't fix the nose, from what I recall they used to listen to their customers I'm pretty sure they corrected their 32nd Flanker if I recall, would have thought this would have been done as well.
Don
Amazing build! The burnt paint around the engine area is very realistic. Congrats!
