Hawker Tornado to Sea Fury 2023 GB Proposal

Rob S

Recommended Posts

I mentioned this in one of the other GB Proposals so thought I might start the ball rolling seeing no one else had picked it up and run with it.

Basically this GB Proposal covers Hawker Fighters in any scale from the Hawker Tornado to the Sea Fury lineage viz

Tornado

Typhoon

Tempest

Fury

Sea Fury

Any scale, any Mark/Version, any Proposed Mark/Version (if valid Documentation is provided/found - so out and out Whifs are not included), and any Post War Conversions and Racers.

The fuse is lit - let’s see if this idea is a Winner or a Fizzer.

New Airfix 1/72 Tempest (with stubby cannons) should be available by then - and I've got one on order.

I'm in.

I seem to remember that one being mentioned but must admit I'd completely forgotten about it when starting this.  If it's anything like their Typhoon it'll be a real Winner!

On the List at Spider's Legs Number 8.

Yip, get my name on that list please Rob, have examples of all these subjects in the stash.

"Yip" is exactly what my new Jack Russell Pup "Jock" is saying a lot lately.

On the List Col at three by three equals Number Nine.

I don't know how many would come in a Box/Carton but I'll certainly be getting a Box/Carton of them!

Number nine you say Rob? Only have eight eligible kits in the stash so that must be a sign I need one more :D

Hopefully Airfix will follow the 1:72 Tempest with a new tool 1:72 Sea Fury next year in time for this GB if it gets up for 2023.

Here's an example of a Proposed Version that is eligible for this GB - the Eagle engined Tempest

https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/airfixtributeforum/smer-ex-heller-1-72-hawker-tempest-vii-nv768-conve-t7401.html

Would make an interesting side by side comparison with an Eagle engined Wyvern.
