Homebee Posted November 1, 2021 Posted November 1, 2021 (edited) Update - Project taken over by the former Eastern Express ukrainian kit designer under X-Scale label after Russia's unprovoked and unjustified full-scale invasion from his country. After the L-188 Electra (link) Eastern Express is to release a 1/144th Lockheed P-3C Orion kit - ref. 1441?? Source: https://ee-models.ru/en/ Box art V.P. Edited January 23 by Homebee 6

VMA131Marine Posted February 4, 2022 Posted February 4, 2022 I’ll be honest and say I don’t see this surpassing the LS/Arii/MicroAce kit, which is an excellent rendition. Maybe the upside is it will encourage production of new aftermarket decals as these were always the weak spot of the Arii kit. Certainly this kit is going to be a lot more expensive. https://www.scalemates.com/kits/arii-33001-800-lockheed-p-3c-orion--157239
Teeradej Posted February 4, 2022 Posted February 4, 2022 Shape of cockpit window area is much better than Arii kit. 1
Blue Monday Posted July 29, 2023 Posted July 29, 2023 Is there any further news on this kit? I'd imagine that the current issues in that part of the world are affecting the production of this model. BM.
Homebee Posted July 29, 2023 Author Posted July 29, 2023 (edited) Eastern Express is a Moscovian company which model kits were designed and produced in Ukraine. You can imagine what's happened after February 24th, 2022. The Ukrainian designer (link) has established a new brand: X-Scale Models (link). So maybe one day under this new label... V.P. Blue Monday Posted July 29, 2023 Posted July 29, 2023 OK. Thanks. I thought that might be the case. Hopefully this kit sees the light of day, along with the L188 Electra. BM.

At least one modeler can’t live with it. He substituted kit supplied cockpit window part with sclupted epoxy. https://bonoddh-pla.hatenablog.com/entry/2021/06/28/151000 Edited August 6, 2023 by Teeradej Image inserted. 4

Corky Posted January 14 Posted January 14 Xscale kit looks fantastic! It should be just like their Electra kit. Im looking forward to doing CAF aircraft. 1
KRK4m Posted January 14 Posted January 14 I'm a fan of the 1/144 scale myself and I'm happy with any information about it, but I really don't understand why there are two parallel threads devoted to this Orion kit and (roughly) the same information appears in them - once in one, then in the other. Can any mod really control this and merge it into one thread while closing the other one? Cheers Michael 3

stevehnz Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Some Kiwi decals would have been nice but probably too much to expect. Oldmodels to the rescue I'd think. What's another NZ$20.00 Steve.

stevehnz Posted January 24 Posted January 24 I think Jays are now the (sole?) retailer for the Oldmodels range. John Stone is a good type to deal with. Steve. 1

Ad-4N Posted Tuesday at 08:21 PM Posted Tuesday at 08:21 PM That paint scheme with a Harpoon can only mean it’s a P-3C painted in a USN heritage scheme. P-3As were painted in the Engine Gray/White scheme when first delivered to VP-8 and VP-44 in August 1962 1
