Trumpeter HMS Hood 1/350 question?

Can anyone tell me if this model comes with a stand and what the quality of the model is like?

I can't remember about the stand but if there was one it was probably one of those crappy ones that looks like railway sleepers which is the Trumpeter style.

 

The kit is reasonably accurate but the quality isn't great. As one of Trumpeter's earlier kits it is tooled as cheaply as possible. There are multiple pieces for each piece of superstructure and with indifferent fit to one another. Any pieces moulded in one will have the sprue gate somewhere that mandates cleanup on a visible surface. It does build up into a pretty good HMS Hood but not that quickly.
