Thanks for that Chris,

The extended mirror isn't supplied with the kit, that I could see but there was so much flash on the external armoured windscreen it was difficult to tell.

I'm intending to put something together with scrap photoetch towards the end.

Cheers,

Alistair

No worries Alistair,  I was going to be very impressed if they did include it!!!

Good luck with the PE bits .

So I managed to mess up fairing in the wing tips.

The fit wasn't brilliant but I somehow managed to dig a bit of a trench in them.

Oh well some sprue goo has been applied and when that's dry I'll attempt to fair them in and do some rescribing.

We've all been there on a Spitfire model Alistair!!!

Good luck with the scribing fella, sprue good is great stuff for that too.

Chris

It's what I get for working in less than suitable light.

Recently started this one too, but added some  Eduard thingies in the pit... how much will be visible in the end through the overly thick canopy???

Nice work so far

Thanks very much.

I don't think there will be much visible at all but you'll know it's there.

Alistair

Looks good Alistair 👍

I acquired one of these recently so I am glad to see it builds up nicely.

Cheers Greg

Thanks Greg,

It builds nicely when you don't make stupid mistakes. My superpower by the way. :rage:

Excellent to see the underside bits added Alistair,  looking forward to the upper surfaces.

Chris

Thanks Chris,

I'll try and get some uppers done tomorrow.

Nicely done Alistair.

The Mrs built this one a few years ago now, and she said that it was a fun kit.

Simon.

Thanks Simon,

She probably made a better job of it than this but I'm having fun and that's what I'm looking for.

Alistair

Not much done here.

I had to redo the underside as I had missed a gap at the base of the radiator.

Then some masking and Ocean Grey was then sprayed on the uppers.

Excellent,  the upper paints are going on, looking good fella.

Great job

Chris

Thanks Chris,

I'll get some more done on Tuesday. That should finish the camo off then onto the yellow bits.

So just to be clear, you’re putting the yellow bits down on top of the rest of the camouflage? That colourcoats really is good stuff!

The Spitfire may be a bit less exotic than some of your other recent subjects Alistair but it’s a fine looking piece of work none the less.

Thanks Craig.

I figured it would be easier to mask off for the yellow after the main camo.

I may give it a spritz of white first but have every confidence in the ColourCoats Yellow.

I removed the digit and got on with the masking.

AK Camouflage putty as usual principally because I'm lazy.

After the usual Buff mottle some ColourCoats Dark Green was applied in thin coats.

After I'd cleaned the airbrush.

Any of the hard edges should soften up as the paint fully cures.

It looks ok to me.

Thanks for looking,
