Corsairfoxfouruncle
Hello everyone, I am building a Cessna 172 from 1983. Id like to know where the registration codes go. I know they're on each side of the fuselage. Were they ever on the upper or lower the wings at all ? The few pictures of my subject have no clear photo’s of these areas, only the fuselage sides. If it helps I’m building VH-DIN http://www.adf-serials.com.au/cessna172.htm Dennis
DennisTheBear
Well, in 1971 it had the rego under the wings, VH under the starboard and DIN under port. https://www.airhistory.net/photo/7070/VH-DIN DennisTheBear

From a dark and distant memory, pretty sure I saw one of their Twin Otters at Fairoaks (maybe) and it was VP-F (Falkland Islands) registered SD

(Upper starboard wing is optional) I found a photo and cranked up the brightness so you can see it better: Cheers! Scott. Scott. Hello Scott, this a new photo of DIN. Thanks for bringing it and highlighting it. Good thing I set aside a second set of decals for the wings now I can get to it. Ed Russell
You are correct - of my half-dozen pictures of DIN, none show the underneath properly. Good picture - I'll add it to my collection.
