1/6 Battle Droid and STAP

Recommended Posts

This is my 1/6 Battle Droid with STAP, wanted to give him a more dynamic pose than the standard kit so I cut his ankles off and reworked most of the limb joints in order to give him more of a motorbike type lean.

I'm really pleased with how he came out and getting the pose sorted and gluing him in place turned out not to be quite as fiddly as I thought, and I think it looks much better than the very static looking original.

Heres a link to the WIP

Thanks to everyone who followed along and commented, that always makes a build more fun and interesting!

Here are the final pics

Having tried and failed to get my Droid to stand on his STAP in the normal position I have some understanding of how hard it was to  achieve your stance, which as I said in your WIP gives far more life to the model than the original.  Really enjoyed watching this come together, your efforts were definitely worth while superb model, thanks for sharing - Andy

Coolest looking Droid on a Stap I've ever seen. Great subdued weathering and I love the angled pose.

Thanks for the compliment Pete! :)

Very nice build, a proper display piece. Weathering is awesome. The pose gives it a feeling of speed.

Thanks Andy! :)

Yeah was a bit of a faff at times, I just don't understand why they had the feet and lower leg as 1 piece, separate feet would make positioning him a lot easier

Amazing work, the chipping is perfect and like others say the pose looks like its moving fast.  Well done fella.

Thanks Hoolio appreciate it

I'm not a big fan of Star Wars. Actually, I'm not a fan of Star Wars at all (sorry for the heresy 😉). But I really like this model. Good work!

Heresy is fine when it comes with big compliments!

Thanks voozet

That's a cracker! For a robot, it has a lot of life and even grace due to the posing. The chipping is 10/10. Weathering is good. In fact good all the way.

Cheers for the kind words Bertie! :D

That looks excellent, lots of motion and I like the restrained weathering and the contrast between the chrome bits and flat bits.

Great work! Though not my favorite movie from the Star Wars saga the STAP is to me one of the coolest ground vehichles in the saga, and you've done a great job representing it!
