TEXANTOMCAT
Surely it augers well for a brand new Spitfire Superkit- the question is will they replace the MK1 /V or do a IX or even a XIV from which one could do high and low back variants? I still am, but I suspect when they do it then it will be in 1/72 and not sure it would be worth building an event round- the two newbies I do know about are Cold War and not WW2- but if they’re doing it in 1/48 perhaps the event will feature the Arco two seater or BHH or Aerolegends- it’s the type of PR event the latter would do. So muggins pre-orders two at about forty quid each. Airfix then decide that plan went so well they'd produce heaven only knows how many more. They didn't sell, so traders were eventually flogging them off for about a tenner..... Keith 2

Keith Not Airfix, they produced exactly the numbers the traders ordered - it was the traders that over ordered based on the success of the TSR2 kit. You didn't see Airfix selling them off. iainpeden
On the grounds that they have been to Cosford and that it's a while since we have seen any Luftwaffe releases I'll suggest an ME 410 Hornisse.

You didn't see Airfix selling them off. I was told by a trader at the time that the stock he was flogging off was from a second production run Airfix had undertaken on the back of the initial pre-order run that he hadn't been involved with, and he'd bought them direct off Airfix. As that was quite some time after that initial run, I have no reason to doubt what he told me. Keith

Looking through my paint stash I found three -three!!!- tins of Xtracolor Hemp. Can't imagine why I would buy three tins, but there they are. A re-release of the Nimrod would give me something to use it on.
