Geo1966
I should have thought about this build a bit more before taking it on as it was a bit of a nightmare trying to weather the 4BO green, but leave the 6K brown looking like it had just been applied. In hindsight I should have weathered the whole vehicle before doing the 6K brown. Also, it would have been a lot easier if I had extended the base terrain the full width of the wood. Oh well, we live and learn. Thanks for looking George 52
thorfinn
Very fine work, indeed! Just a punter's suggestion, particularly for armor models -- more 'ground level' shots, to get the full effect. Cheers
Jasper dog
Very nice! Great little vignette, really like the little details, crew aside, such as the shovel, cable, shackle on the grab handle etc. Nice interaction between the crew, tells a story, great, nicely painted too btw. Then the groundwork sets it off brilliantly, static grass(?), flattened by feet etc and a little woodland debris. As you can probably tell I really like this, great work. As you said the brown has a similar finish to the 4BO in parts but if you hadn't mentioned it I probably wouldn't have given it a second thought. Thanks for posting Darryl
Bullbasket
Very nicely done, and the setting is very realistic. Nice work. John. 1

Cheers Thanks Thorfinn, I took about 40 photos, but i only have my Mobile phone camera, so some didn't look so good on review. I will definately bear your suggestion in mind in future "shoots". Thanks for posting Darryl Hi Darryl, Thanks for your kind words. Yes i used static grass, but i only have a cheap puffer bottle for application, so some didn't stand up that well. In a way it sort of worked out ok......ish 🙂 George

Definitely think the puffer bottle worked really well. Think I'll have to try one out.... Atb Darryl 1

Kingsman
Where did you get the idea for the dark green (or is it black?) disruptive painting? The authorised RKKA camouflage colours to be used with 4BO Protective Green were Yellow Earth 7K and Dark Brown 6K. 6K was to be used in wooded terrain and 7K in open terrain, both at 15-30% coverage.

I used Vallejo model air 4BO Russian green and Vallejo model air 6K Russian brown. Maybe it is what you are viewing the images on that makes it look dark green, as it looks brown to me? I printed off the Revell T-34 instructions to get the pattern. George

Ade H
Must be the weather in Weymouth. 😉 George, maybe you could have added some patches of "wet" paint (gloss varnish), especially where that guy's leaning on it!

I did add a bit of gloss on the back of the turret and around the spare fuel drum, but my rubbish photos don't really show it. You can see a bit on the last picture if you look carefully. Thanks Bertie, I also find it is useful for giving the vignette a name, if that makes sense. This one i did last year was called "No you can't keep the cat" George

PlaStix
Hi George. That really is a very impressive vignette and your first B&W photo shows it off a treat! Top notch modelling all round. Kind regards, Stix
