Alpha Delta 210
Hello all Another awesome day at Duxford for the last "Flying Day" of 2021. This was a full air show by any other name! I will start with the misty static shots and post the flying shots tomorrow. Thanks for looking. More to come....

Alpha Delta 210
Here is the first batch of flying shots from the M11 end. As the Dornier landed over the M11, it looked as if they would use Runway 24 which is why I opted to stay there for the holding and landing shots, however Runway 06 was in use, so I missed out on those shots. Enough of the chat, here are some flying shots in taken in the usual tricky Duxford conditions. (Excuses, excuses....) RAF Falcons arriving (in a Canadian-registered Dornier 228!) Nimrod air test "Berlin Formation" Wonderful to see the Lancaster back... .... and some rare BBMF top-side passes! Thanks for looking. Final batch to follow soon.
Parabat
What a spread, some lovely shots there. The colours are really good despite the limitations imposed by the the location, really effective shots I think. Lovely to see these in the air.

Duxford is a really tricky location to photograph at on a sunny day, which was another reason to stay at the motorway end to shoot in a south-easterly direction as the aircraft came around the AirSpace bend
Latinbear
Absolutely superb shots. The atmospheric ones do a really good job of suggesting it's a real WW2 airfield. The B&W Blenheim and Lysander images are beauties!

If you've ever tried to photograph a show at DX, you will know how tricky it can be! I therefore tried to use it to my advantage with the monochrome images. I'm glad you like them! Final batch will probably be posted tomorrow because I've just returned from Duxford following an incredible wing to wing experience with the Lysander from a Dragon Rapide and I'm still recovering from the excitement! 3 hours ago, moondrome said: the photos are awesome! thanks for sharing Hi moondrome. Off to edit some Lysander photos now....
ColinChipmunkfan
Great photos again Leigh, I particularly like the Blenheim- very atmospheric, many of the shots look like period photos. I particularly like the Mustang and Thunderbolt sequence. Thank you again for posting for us. Colin

I always love to see the svelte Mustang and portly Thunderbolt in formation as they look so incongruous together! I'm sure that you would have enjoyed the very graceful Chipmunk display. After seeing the Lancaster in the Aircraft Restoration Company Stephenson Hangar for what must have been close to a year, it was fantastic to see her wowing the crowd again!

Thanks very much for the kind words. It was a wonderful close to another strange season. If it hadn't been for the Duxford Flying Days, I would have struggled to get my aviation fix in 2021! Happy New Year.
